Superb stay - wish it had been longer.
Chris and Nikolas are great hosts.
The breakfast is superb, fresh and tasty.
We stayed in the room with the private sitting out area and what a bonus!
It has a superb comfy settee in to have a rest after a busy day along with a glass of wine or two.
Lovely gardens to sit in and relax along with a pool to cool down in.
Shame they don't have any loungers in the garden but they said it gets too hot to lay out in - but maybe next time.
Couldn't fault this small b&b with great hosts.
Hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: Both rooms are superb but choose the room with the private sitting out area.

Despite an earlier than expected arrival the owners were welcoming and hospitable. The rooms were clean, comfortable and cosy. In the heat the large lap pool and tranquil garden was a peaceful retreat from a busy schedule. Thanks to the management for a tranquil stay.

Room Tip: A great retreat while exploring the area.

This must surely rate as one of my best experiences with a B&B! Beautiful setting in peaceful McGregor. We had our own patio leading onto the garden and pool. The garden is clearly a labor of love for the owners and completes the tranquil experience. Breakfast is not your normal fare, and be assured the day cannot start on a better note- Nicolaas knows how to put together breakfast! We will be back and next time stay longer. Hiking in the nature reserve is 5 minutes walking from the room. To dine out-ask the advice of the owners and you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: If a couple- ask for the room with the patio, if a family, then you will have it any case.

We spent three wonderful days at the Old Village Lodge in McGregor. Everything was immaculate and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and cool and we had a lovely veranda leading out of our room overlooking the beautiful garden and lovely pool. It is a place where you can settle in and relax for a week. Our hosts, Nicolaas and Chris, were very friendly and helpful, made suggestions and bookings for dinner at some lovely nearby venues and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Thank you Nicolaas and Chris, we will be back!

Room Tip: The room leading out onto the veranda, overlooking the garden and pool

Lovely Cape Dutch building in easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and galleries. We enjoyed our first visit to Mcgregor and the Old Village Lodge was a perfect place to stay. The interior is immaculate, our hosts were extremely welcoming and hospitable and the pool and garden were very nice. Thank you! Gareth & Paul

The whole experience was amazing. Wonderful hosts, sumptuous room and they even made the sun shine! We left feeling relaxed and spoilt after a delicious breakfast on the stoep. Highly recommended.

Baie Dankie Chris and Nicholaas.

Mc Gregor the quaint village close to Robertson in the Western Cape, home to wine estates and other farms in this beautiful and increasingly flourishing area, we have visited on more than one occasion. This time round, we stayed at the charming and impeccably maintained, Old Village Lodge, personally run by hosts Nicolaas and Chris, . A beautifully maintained garden with fruit, vegetables and flowers, an inviting swimming pool all to be enjoyed from the lodge's verandahs. Intimate and stylish, with excellent breakfasts, other meals on requests and a variety of local wines on offer, and in the quiet part of the village, walking distance to a variety of dining options. There is much to see in the area, and we shall return to this welcoming, comfortable base, and recommend it to first time and regular visitors.
