We spent our anniversary in Greyton and I'm so glad I reserved our table at Searle's for dinner! The evening was just perfect in all respects and when visiting the town again Searle's will be our Nr1 spot for breakfast, lunch & supper. Service was efficient, all the food delicious and the atmosphere just incredible. You can spend a few hours browsing the whole shop/restaurant and the exquisitely furnished little dolls houses are a sight to behold...take some time to really get your nose up against the glass and peek into a beautiful (hand-made) miniatute world! Tables are available in various locations, each as characterful as the next. I especially loved the pretty dinner plates..something different to the usual boring whites. Searle's is now part and parcel of Greyton and I look forward to next time!

Make sure your are there early in the weekend to enjoy their breakfast buffet. Their chocolate milkshake is also nice to try.

We spend a weekend in Greyton to attend a wedding. There is not a whole lot of options in terms eating out, and Searle's sort of becomes the default option.

The food is very good, they don't have a huge menu, but it is very high quality food. The setting is extremely relaxed with both outdoor and indoor seating, lounges or more formal dining room settings.

Its kid friendly and clearly the locals support the place as well.

They don't have a huge amount of waiters and sometimes they get a little overwhelmed and then service gets slow (really slow). It does however fit in with the overall Greyton ambiance, nothing seems to happen very fast, so sit down and relax.

Its been a while since I visited Greyton ~ and what an exciting surprise to stumble upon Searle's: Pandora's Box would blush as to all the wonderful products in the Trading Post area!
If Searle's does not have the right seating area for you, I don't know what else you would need, as there is a variety of places to choose: Dining Room, Cafe Patio, Coffee Bar, The Pub, Al Fresco Dining, Bohemian Dining under the Tent Canopy - Lounge on a Bed? Anything else ~ I know you will find it, including watching Rugby & enjoying live Music ~ its all there!
Food wise:
A Fresh Approach to a burger indeed, tired of a 'plat' patty, this one was fantastically chunky!
A pleasant take on Tuna Sashimi with Ponzu & Ginger.
Funky pizzas being made made in the Open Pizza Kitchen.
A Fresh Garden Salad Buffet.
Lamb on the Spit, was a special, roasted to perfection. What fun - a rotisserie, with rotating Golden Chickens!
Sublime Desserts, Yummy Brownies, Cakes, Chocolate Tarts & much more.
Sunday Lunch Buffet, with South African & Mediterranean Goodies. ~ very affordable for as much as you want to eat.
The Ultimate experience at the end is to use the Cloak Rooms & experience a room lavishly set out, including that wonderful 'foamy' soap!
I will be back!
Thank you for a lovely weekend Greyton & Searle's!

We did not eat here but just browsed through. This is simply a sight no one should miss if you visit the really neat town of Greyton. This place is so eclectic that it defies word. The bathroom entrance looks like the entrance to the Grand Palace. We ate at the Abbey Rose which was excellent, but on a second visit I would eat here.

DO NOT miss this place
