“Very nice place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

We stayed there for 3 nights in June 2013. The place is very well located, in the port of Katapola, next to the restaurants and shops. The room (we stayed in B2) was big, simple and clean, with 2 private terrace so just what you need.

Do not rent a scooter on this island, it is quite dangerous (the wind is very strong, road not that good and very steep)

Top and cosy little hotel with nice furnished rooms, not far away from Katapola beach and some rooms even overlooking the sea. French atmosphere due to the hosts who are simply lovely and making your stay feeling like you stay somewhere at home.

Contacting Villa Le Grand bleu without précising that it had been previously warmly recommended to us by enthusiastic relatives is quite an experience: Stergios reacts immediately to your mails and helps you to select the most appropriate room among the 9, he and Angeliki can offer.. Whatever the room you discover that each one offers the same seaview and private terrace to enjoy the sunset..
Just figure out if we had informed Stergios about the visitors who had recommended Villa Grand bleu!..
Our six nights stay has been a continuous delight, sharing with our hosts the Greek easter celebrations and the warm exchanges with some regular visitors in the kitchen and dining room in the open where evryone can prepare his meals..
Quite and experience of Greek and international conviviality! An hopitality experience you will not forget if you visit the place!

Room Tip: Contact Stergios and Angleiki: they will manage to select the best room for your needs!

Quiet and convenient situation at Xilokeratidi/Katapola 200m from the promenade/street that links both ends of the bay. Restaurants, bars and shops within 5 minutes walking. Stergios comes to pick you up from the ferry and brings you back, whatever arrival/departure. Nice, spacious and clean rooms with fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. We had room B2, first floor, which has 2 terraces. 1 with sun in the morning for breakfast and the other one to watch the sundown above the bay, just great. Angelika is very friendly and helpful whenever needed. Free wifi. Possibility to shower in case of late departure. We want to go back...

We stayed 4 nights at the grand blue and were not disappointed . It was a charming little hotel clean spacious we had two balconys and a great view of the sunset. It's close to everything in katapola . Aggeliki was always friendly and helpful we were always met with a smile. They even offered os their car when we were leaving with a early ferry. Farm life sounds early in the morning roosters , goats, donkeys, turkeys all apart of the charm. Highly recommended.

The welcome and warmth from the hosts Stergios & Aggeliki was by far the best on our trip through the Greek Islands. We were picked up at 3AM from the ferry from Athens and driven to the hotel, which was about 10 minutes walk to town. The hosts were very warm, very welcoming and in a very genuine way.
There are times when you just meet truly nice people in life and these were truly nice people.
We were about to say goodbye, they had apologised to trouble us for cash on the last night and gave us a minor discount and also had baked a cake for us to eat on board the boat.
Turned out our ferry was cancelled and so they re-organised new accommodation for us and took care of almost everything, even calling the car hire and our hotel in Santorini to help us arrange everything.

The rooms themselves were really nice. The one and only thing was the shower head didn't stay up easily, hardly a complaint. No breakfast served inclusive of room price but they had a great offering on the room service menu. Very convenient place from the port. You will need a car/scooter to get around the island.

Love this hotel and this island.

Room Tip: Ask for the upstairs room with a balcony and view of the ocean.
