Naxos seems to be the budget option when it comes to the Greek Islands and as such we couldn't find a true high end hotel. We opted to the Naxos beach 2 because we wanted a beach close to us and they share a beach with a couple of other hotels in the area. The hotel sits on a bluff above a cove or bay. The view is nice and the hotel is adequate. We mostly toured the island in a rented car, visiting other beachs as the beach near the hotel is rocky and being on the windward side of the island, windy.

The staff at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful and the room was ok. I would rate it 3 stars at best. The little shower cabin was barely adequate and the grounds of the hotel, at least on the ocean side where our room was, looked more like a poorly maintained campground that a hotel grounds. Over the fence, it was obvious that they and others simply deposited trash and junk there rather than properly disposing of it.

It is a bit of a jaunt to Xora (or the center) from the hotel, about a 7 euro cab ride, 15 mins or so. There is not much within walking distance.

We would probably go back to this hotel, but only if we were looking for a bargain option, which this was at about 125 euro per night.

Naxos Beach 2 can definately be recommended for travelers with children.

First we were shown to a room that was definately not suiteable for a family of 4, but there was luckely no problem in changing room, which also gives this hotel an extra point.
The service is excellent and the staff always smiling and helpfull.

The nearby beach (Stelida) is truly a beach for children, but not the Agios Prokopios as it's gets very deep very fast.

My best recommandations from a family from Denmark.

We stayed in the Naxos Beach II for our first trip to Greece together. From the moment we arrived at this little hamlet tucked away on the side of a rocky hill facing the ocean, we knew this hotel was special. It resembled a little village with each guest room its own rock-carved building, with big green doors and giant, ancient-looking keys.

Inside, the room was cozy with the rock-carved look, mosquito netting, and flowing curtains leading outside to our private balcony which had a spectacular view of Naxos Town, the water and the Portara. The layout of the hotel made you feel as is you were the only guests. Breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious and the staff was extremely helpful.

The people and accommodations of this hotel were wonderful, and we will definitely come again.

We stayed there this October (2006). Our room was sweet, as is Naxos, but we had problems with the hotel and, worst of all, there was no management around to respond to our leggitimate concerns.

Just two staff members were working the whole weekend, a cook and a bell-hop\waiter. Internet wasn't working, nor was our room phone. We couldn't have a wake-up call for our early departure day-tour of the island. Forty per cent of the menu items were unavailable, including most Greek dishes. We could get 4 different kinds of schnitzel, but we are Canadian and didn't come to Greece for German food. What dishes we had were of poor quality, our poorest meals in 2 1/2 weeks in Greece (Mykonos, Naxos, Santorini, Athens).

The hotel had no shuttle bus and is a 45-minute walk to town (we found out!) , so we really didn't have an option but to eat supper at the hotel or we had to go into town and back by taxi (20 Euros).

Sure, the hotel was scheduled to close for the season some time after we left, but they shouldn't have accepted guests if they weren't prepared to offer services we paid for. This is not acceptable for a Class "A" (their version of Five Star) hotel.

I don't think management gets it yet. There was nobody we could complain to and, when we did on the Monday (day 3), the desk staff wouldn't (or weren't allowed to) compensate us. And they wouldn't accept our American Express travellers' cheques in Euros, a final insult.

I would have given this hotel an "excellent" rating except they forgot to give me back my passport when I checked out, and I had a flight from Athens back home the next day. I felt it was their responsibility to give me back my passport, especially since they took it for the duration of my stay. They were nice enough to courier it to me the next day, but they made me pay for the courier, which was annoying.

That being said, the room was spacious and clean and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The hotel has a big dog named Scrooge, who is HUGE and so cute.

It was a ways from town (you can't walk it), so you really need to rent a car or scooter if you stay here.

This is a lovely and isolated bungalow complex halfway between the Chora and Agios Prokopius. Each bungalow has a sitting area with couch/daybed, table and kitchentte, along with a separate sleeping room and balcony (of course a WC too!). Even when people are in the rooms next to/above or below you, the setup is just right to give you a feel of privacy. The pool is nice, though the lounge chairs are impossibly hot without long beach towels on them. The food and drinks at the bar/restaurant are reasonable priced and tasty, so you need not venture out if you don't want to. The only thing you should know is that you cannot stay here without a car--unless you don't plan on leaving the place OR you are willing to spend 10-20 Euro per day on taxis. If you like hiking, it is a 45 minute hike to the Portara off the Port, plus it has the Stelida right behind it. They also have tennis courts on the property.

While I find it a bit pricey for Naxos, you get privacy and lovely bungalows. Just remember your bug repellent as this area (plus the Agio Anna and Agios Prokopius areas get QUITE buggy and dusk.)

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Naxos Beach Hotel 2 for two nights in May on our Greek Island hopping vacation. The hotel was just great. Our room was so cute with an enormous key. We had a fun balcony with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The staff at the hotel was superb. They were so friendly to us and really directed us how to spend our short trip in Naxos. We found our way to a secluded little beach where we didnt see one other person for the entire day! It was romantic and beautiful.

On a sidenote, the food we ordered by the pool was phenomenal! The calamari and greek salads are definite musts! However, try to avoid ordering fancy drinks. While the Bloody Mary tasted good enough, it tasted more like a Jamba Juice than a Bloody Mary. We didnt care, it was just so fun here.

While the shower may be a bit small and the amenities are not the Ritz Carlton, this hotel had such charm that was unrivaled in the other hotels we stayed at throughout Greece! I whole-heartedly reccomend this to anyone who wants to have a wonderful trip to Naxos! PS - Be sure to get to the Portal of Apollo at sunset - truly magical and I think more beautiful than Santorini's over-rated sunset.
