Just come back from Chrispy world in Kolimbari after staying for 1 week all inclusive. Resort was pleasant and very clean. We stayed in rooms away from the bar and the pool and they were very spacious, good air conditioning and cleaned daily.
The food was excellent, good choice everyday and plenty of it. It was a busy time but hardly any queues for food.
The main pool was lovely and warm, big enough to accommodate the busy time of year. Sunbeds were a bit short on times but managed to get one at some time during each day.
The only down side was that the resort is a bit far out and you have to get a bus or taxi if you want a look around the shops or local bars. Chania, old harbour was lovely, full of life and interesting features to see.
The resort could do with some night entertainment for adults though. There were Greek dancers on the Saturday night but as we arrived at midnight Saturday we missed this and there was a magician on the Thursday night.
Bar closes at 11 o'clock every night, so get a few rounds in before that if you want to stay up and chat to other guests after that time
Overall, a good, relaxing holiday and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Quiet room away from pool and bar.

We arrived at this hotel following a delayed flight. The rooms were not as requested and the man on reception was not very helpful. After several arguments we had to to accept the rooms allocated to us as it was the early hours of the morning. The rooms were spotless as also the surrounding areas. It took 3 days for rooms to be sorted. The wi fi only works in reception. The pool was very clean but be aware if the slope into it as it is dangerous. The entertainment left a lot to be desired. The all inclusive drinks were limited and the cocktails are like slush . However the food was good. Plenty of salads declaratively spread. All other staff were polite and and helpful. The location is close to a bus service which will take you to local towns. The positives outweighed the negatives and we had a well deserved rest rest and good holiday.

Room Tip: Family rooms by pool are spacious.

This is an excellent value hotel overall, the key points are:

1. Location. The village is out of the way but having seen the chaos of the larger resorts this shouldn't be complained about. We hired a car for the week which did help a lot, but reception would arrange any tours and there was also public transport. It's down a side road so is difficult to find, but there is plenty of parking. The beach is very close by but is quite pebbly, however the views are great and there is a taverna very close to the beach which offers loungers etc.

2. Food. Exceptional overall! There is a very wide choice of food, all very fresh and full of flavour, and a huge choice of salads and local cheeses etc. There is also chips with every lunch and dinner for anyone not too adventurous! Pudding selection is limited but very tasty also. No dodgy tummies throughout the stay either. Hours of service are very long so queues aren't bad, and a snack bar runs outside these times. We arrived late at night so service had finished, but we were pleased to find a cold selection plate in the room, which was a nice touch.

3. Rooms. We had one of the basic rooms, which was adequate at best. There is a fridge and tv, air con, and a decent shower, but the beds are strictly twin (wide sides so can't push together as a couple), and very hard mattresses made these uncomfortable, but the hotel provides two fleecy blankets which we put under the sheets as mattress toppers, improved the situation no end. Room was very clean also and no sign of unwanted bugs. We were away from the pool area where the bar is so it was very quiet, but I can imagine issues with noise if we were near the bar. There are higher spec rooms available which might be an improvement, but ultimately if you spend more than just your sleeping hours in the room when here, you are missing out!

4. All inclusive. We stayed under this option, and there is a great selection of drinks offered under this, including three different cocktails each night (all quite alcoholic!), wine, beer, brandy etc, plus all the usual soft drinks and juices. Very good all round. In addition, when going on a day tour, you can request a packed lunch, which is very comprehensive and tasty.

5. Other facilities. The three pools are very nice and warm, restaurant is clean and well maintained, the staff work very long hours and are very friendly (plus all appear to be German rather than Greek?!). There is also a minimart on site, a jacuzzi and sauna, football courts and a volleyball/basketball area. Entertainment runs throughout the day and there is some on a night time, including a mini-disco for kids every night (unfortunately we still have the songs in our heads!) and a magic show, but the staff definitely don't pressure you to join in if you don't want.

There are some mixed reviews, and I think that the hotel's issue is that it's advertised as 4 star. I think it's a very good 3 star hotel so the bad reviews come from guests expecting 4 star standards - which you're never going to get for the price of this place. Bear that in mind and you won't be disappointed!

All this comes at a great value price too, which makes this a very good choice hotel - if we visit Crete again we would definitely return. And best of all, you can entertain your friends later with tales of its comedy name!

Room Tip: Any room away from the pool area

This resort is a true gem! Booked it last minute the room was brilliant was very clean and tidy. The pools are also great they are a great size and are kept very clean. The restaurant again very clean and a good selection of food on offer. There could of been more choice but i never went hungry. The bar was great it didnt offer masses of drinks but accommodated everyone and the beer is lovely. The reps are fantastic and really good at their jobs they really make you feel welcome and keep you entertained if you wish to be entertained. They hold activities during the day in and out of the pool and then entertainment at night. They also accommodated for the kids. The reps are the main reason for my 5*s as they really made my stay a blast! Lia and Ania in particular! The other staff are really nice too they all seem to work really hard to keep the resort clean and running well.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone as long as you go during the period reps are present.

Chrispy world is well worth a visit lovely hotel and plenty of activities to do during the day food was okay if you like chips and pasta every day not a lot of potatoes and vegetables every day, chips is mostly eaten at lunch and dinner every night as that's all there was as a side order, lots of different meats every day from chicken pork turkey and fish and lots of salad and pastas to choose from every serving of the day!

We arrived just gone 10pm Greece time and got our room was not shown to our room until we asked and then was taken half way there. Got to our room and because we arrive late dinner had finished and the snack bar closes at 9pm (Greece time) they provided us with bread rolls water fruit and some traditional Greek food which was very thoughtful. We then opened the bathroom and saw 2 very large cockroaches and none us wanted to get rid of them as they were huge and the was on the roof so couldn't get anywhere near them so we went back to reception and told them if we could get them removed or something to kill them with then the women on reception said the only option was to move hotels to another just up the road as they were fully booked we refused and then she gave us some fly and cockroach spray to kill them.

Next day our room was cleaned and we went back after maid had gone and saw that the bathroom shower drain was pulled up next thing we get a knock at the door and had been asked that were moving rooms which was strange as they were "fully booked" so we got another room and had to pack everything and move, the other room was fine and got a better view over the mountains and pool area. We was in the garden area.

Hotel entertainment during the day was good fun, water polo water Zumba and aqua gym, and then normal volleyball on the grass. There was tennis courts pool table table tennis and arcade games there too at a charge. Kids club was on every day for kids from 10am.

Hotel entertainment during the evening was good, we was over there when the holiday reps had started so they was shy but they gave of good impressions and there very friendly! All the holiday reps do day time entertainment as well as evening so your see them around a lot. Entertainment was different every night, bingo, karaoke, Quiz night and kids entertainment! Traditional Greek night on Saturdays.

Day trips there isn't much around to do, a trip to Chania is worth a visit bus picks up outside hotel on the main road and is around €3 each one way! Lots of shops to visit and visit the sea front and port! If you have kids or just want a fun day out with shops and activities I would advice for you to go to a place called Platanias full of sea side kind of shops lots of restaurants and bars and activities such as crazy golf, go carting and many more. That's on the same bus to Chania just a few stops before.

All in all though a good holiday got a tan and had free drink and food so it's worth the money! I wouldn't say I would visit again as I'm more of a 'try different places out' person but was a good holiday.

Holiday reps day of is on a Tuesday so there's no activities or entertainment on that day unless you wanted to set up something for holiday makers they always appreciate holiday makers making it fun on there day off.

Room Tip: either a room in the garden area or a room not by the pool if you want a decent sleep due to music being played quite loud and early risers for breakfast and kids in the pool!
