After a long day/night traveling we were greeted by a friendly man who explained layout of the hotel etc etc and also served us a cold plate of a delicious selection of food. Visitors may also be put of the fact that the hotel collects your passports on arrival but this is a standard procedure and it will be given back at reception the following day, so don't be alarmed. I came to hotel pantheon as a girls hotel with my 3 best friends and despite the quite location we took full advantage of the raki and oozo and got the guests to join in. It was also good because all nationalities join in the fun too. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was tip top, no faults there. The all- inclusive drinks were the best ever, with red and white wine on tap, yes, on tap. The pool and surroundings were absolutely beautiful, it was like a relaxing retreat. So ignore the negative feedback, obviously they were excepting the ritz despite the price they paid and stay at hotel pantheon, trust me!!! :D

We arrived at about 11.30 at night, to be greeted by a very helpful man on reception, who then provided us with a meal of cold meats etc., which was very much appreciated at that time of night - and quite unexpected. We were then told that we would be moved to a different Hotel in the morning, as we were the only guests staying, and they were closing for the winter. After a very good breakfast, the owner guided us to our new Hotel, and even went out of his way to find us a petrol station, as we were very low on fuel. We then lost him in heavy traffic, and he turned around to find us, and delivered us safely to our new Hotel. The room we had at the Pantheon was lovely, and much nicer that the self-catering suite we had at the new Hotel. Based on our warm welcome by the owner, and all staff, the room we had, and the meals we enjoyed, I would say that we would definitely go back, as the setting was perfect.

We were in this hotel in Sep12. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was ok, clean, comfortable beds, working equipment in bath, LCD TV, nice big balcony. No problem at all.

The only problem we had with 2 guests from UK which were making noise at midnight on their balcony, being extremely loud, rude, ignoring all other people around.

If someone is looking for the hotel with animation and night life, this hotel will be the wrong choice indeed. Otherwise this hotel is good comparing with many others around.

A location of the hotel is quiet and, what was important for us, has perfect distances to drive to all other places like Chania or Agnia Galina. Plus, there was a very nice kitty in the garden )). The garden itself is small but very beautiful, full of different plants and trees. In the front of our room was a lemon tree and fig-tree. The gardener has made a perfect job, I must say.

There was no animation, no weekly events (but earlier there were for sure), the pool bar was already closed due to fewer guests in the middle of September.

The pool was clean. Once we spend the whole day at the pool, it was nice as there were not much people there at that time. The gardener was working as a driver for us if we had no car and wanted to go to the beach. As the driver he was very accurate and always either in time or waiting in advance. Unfortunately, he does not speak English at all but it was no need as the full info he was receiving from the receptionists.

Once again, the receptionists were very friendly and nice, helpful and tactful. Great. The cleaning lady was working inconspicuously and very good, I would like to say thanks to her too.

The beach in Rethimno is perfect, simply very-very good. In case the weather was too windy at that side of the island we were just driving to the southern part of Crete.

We had just a breakfast prepaid as we planned to visit local taverns and restaurants anyway. The breakfast was poor but absolutely enough to be full. The local yogurt with honey was very nice. Eggs or omelette by request were also nice. The very recommended tavern close to the hotel is Compos with good prices and local specialities. 5 min away by foot. We had our dinner there very often. We loved this tavern, its ambience and its owners. Their menu is presented in 4 or 5 languages; prices and service are nicely surprising.

Also, close to the hotel you can find an internet cafe, 2 pharmacies, flowers shop, 2 good small supermarkets and bakeries. The bigger supermarket Lidl is also not so far.

All in all, if you want to save your money and be served well, live in calm and comfortable, be close to all destinations and to the perfect beach on the island – this hotel is a good choice.

Room Tip: All rooms are good and renovated. But more important is who will be your neighbours there))

Went here with friends who have also written a veview.. It was terrible that you had to laugh or you would probably cry.. AVOID HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE..
Only good thing was the bus..but like ppl said it was only so you weren't there to drink or eat..
Not ready for all incl and I would never pay for that crap...
Room was the best bit but then that's the place you spend the least time.. Staff were unbelievably rude too..very up and down with you.. I felt like the whole time we were there we were an inconvenience rather then a guest... Pool was ok once the grass got cut the day we left.. And the day we left no.one approached us about our departure..they just locked our room with all our stuff in..joke..others then that I had a great time at the beach away from the hotel.. ;0) Crete is beautiful

Room Tip: Don't choose one ...

me and my partner stayed here a few weeks ago, and after reading review on here i was a little worried, but after getting there in the early hours we was feed and shown to our room which was very clean and tidy and have been revamped in the last few months i would say so the photos on here are old and out of date... i would recommend paying for the air con thou which was extra but good value.
we were all inclusive and found there a lot of Greek food to try which was all very nice
the drinks included were soft drinks all day tea and coffee till the end of dinner and red or white wine and larger or a choose of 3 house spirits from 12 till 11 at night so again no worry's there
The pool was kept very clean and there was always enough sunbeds out and if any more was needed all you had to do was ask for more the only one thing i would say about the out side was the pool bar didn't open but wasn't a problem as the main bar was only 2 minutes away..

The town and beach are about a 20 minute walk away only it is very hilly and in the heat most didn't walk it but the hotel put on 4 mini buses rides during the day and a taxi for the evening was around 8 Euro's so really not bad...
The evening entertainment was only on 4 nights out of 7 that we stayed and was a little weak but really wasn't a problem as we meet some nice people out there and sat talking to them in the evenings

The manager here has only been here for a few months him self and you can see he is turning this hotel around from what i understand was a run down hotel before now all the rooms have been redone and the staff are friendly and helpful if i was to go back to the same part of Crete I would stay here again.
