Today is our last day at L'Antica Vetreia. As I sit here thinking of the last 2 weeks here I can only think how wonderful each day has been. The building is an antique glass factory which has been lovingly restored into 4 unique apartments by Colleen Simpson and her husband Tom Webb who moved here 10 years ago from Seattle.
The setting is a small walled village in the hills of Umbria near the Tuscany border. Colleen and Tom are incredible hosts. INCLUDED in your stay here are tours that either Coleen or Tom take you on: a tour of the local glass museum, a local weekly outdoor market in the next village and a winery where you drive jeeps out to the olive groves and vineyards. Of course there is tasting in the beautiful winery after and then off to a lovely restaurant for lunch. Colleen knows so much history of the area it boggles my mind! She is available for additional tours or use her handwritten guide which will give you suggestions for day trips, what to see there and restaurants to enjoy. My husband and I came here with another couple and all 4 of us have enjoyed our stay beyond our expectations.
