Nice and quiet setting. Only few visitors but lot of locals picking up take away. We had selected antipastos and pizza. It was OK but given the favorable reviews we expected more. All up an average experience

This place is what Italy is all about. Plenty of locals eat and drink there. Food is great. Pasta and seafood dishes to die for. Family run by Juni, her husband Vitorio, brother Manuele and other family. I ate there 3 times last week, and have probably eaten there 15 times in the last two years. Village of Piegaro is historic, scenic and very few tourists. A small Cortona before the movie.

We were amazed to find this restaurant in such a small village. We enjoyed sitting on the outside terrace and much enjoyed the food! Vittorio, the owner has friends in Napoli so fresh fish and seafood is delivered almost daily. Since we discovered this restaurant, several friends have returned with me from Perugia. I continue to share this discovery with friends and am never disappointed. Service is good, food excellent and the company is fun.

Right in the heart of a pristine medieval town is this amazing restaurant...an unbelievable find! The chef is originally from Napoli and has a great fish and seafood connection; his wife Juni is a local. The menu has so many offerings, fish, seafood, seafood with pasta, marvelous local beef, and great pizzas. In our large family group there was something for everyone and the prices are so reasonable that we ate there just about every day either for lunch or dinner. Sitting at a table in the main piazza watching the village life was a real treat! The older ladies in the piazza wove reeds around typical bottles and gave them to us, the children played in the piazza and the evening walk called a passiagata went right by the terrace. This restaurant is in the heartbeat of this beautiful medieval village famed for glassmaking. I would rate this a four star place. Loved the tagliatelle with lobster, the gnocchi with huge shrimp, creamy black rice with crayfish, the mixed grill of fish and seafood and the succulent orata, a white fish on a bed of potatoes. They even pack food to go and delivered pizzas to the villa L'Antica Vetreria where we stayed! Juni, Vittorio, and Juni's brother, Emanuele, were excellent hosts and I recommend this to anyone. People come from Perugia to eat here!

Piegaro seems to be another hill top town worth a visit now we've found this small osteria right in the heart of the historic centre. Unassuming, good food and a young team working hard - but not always completely on the ball, but Slow Food and all that matters here. Their fixed menus (not always mentioned) are terrific value, as are their house wines. In this area it seems that Panicale is the hilltop town to visit but now there is this little hidden place not too far of the beaten track, it's certainly worth the detour. Outside in the summer there is a small terrace area, in the winter a cosy atmospheric dining room with a well to peer down!!
