1st: how to get there. It can only be accessed by the beach, you have to leave the car at the end of the street (where the herewith GPS posted mark brings you to). Then keep the sea on your left and walk on the sand for 100 meters and you'll find it. Worth a treasure.
When the wind comes from the South, on the terrace you get the music of the waves amplified. I was there at the end of April, alone, for dinner. A whole bay only for me. It still looks wild as 35 years ago, the first time I was here in the island.
And here we are with the food. These people at Elba understand what cooking good fish is about and add hospitality and courtesy to this.
In specific, here you get what they have from the day, elaborated with care and with surprisingly effective results. A pearl discovered (and revealed by this website!).
1 glass of fresh white wine, to start with.
Tagliolini con ragú di rana pescatrice (catch of the day). A second glass of wine.
Deliciously light fried pesciolini (caught in front of me). One more glass.
Big bowl of salad.
Coffee. Amaro (offered, but not taken: I still had to drive crossing the island South to North, half an hour trip, to go back to my hotel). Tot: 33€.
Then long talk with the owner, Enzo, who explained to me what makes possible all of this: love.
5 stars, even though Michelin would disagree due to lack of something they value (and I don't in great natural places like this, like a cellar with a choice of 10,000 bottles).
