My husband and I along with another couple(all of us love to cook) were so fortunate and lucky to cook here for three days. Since the school is in a tranquil country setting10 minutes away from Lucca and since we were travelling by train, Gianluca, the chef and owner picked us up at one of the gates of Lucca each morning at 9 am. By 10 am after a cup of coffeee or tea, we were starting to prepare our 4 course banquet. For two days we four were the only students(both days very special,one day with Gianluca and one day with Mariella,his assistant chef and we were very involved in the cooking)) and then joined by 6 Americans on Saturday. The menus chosen were varied and delicious, seafood, vegetables, chicken ,tuna, raviolli ,gnocchi,a bolognaise sauce to die for and of course, desserts. We learned skills and brought home recipes for delicious dishes. After all was prepared,Gianluca or Mariella would bring out the bottles of perfect wine to accompany our feast. Gianluca and Mariiella were wonderful company at these meals. And the price was very reasonable. We often lingered with coffee and dessert till 3pm and of course never had room for dinner later that day.
Mama Mia, I'd go back in a flash. All four of us highly recommend this cooking school.
