We spent four nights at the Villa Beccaris. We stayed in one of the four suites at the Dimora Manichei portion that is a one minute walk from the main villa. Our friends stayed in a suite at the Villa. The accomodations were excellent for both couples. The Villa is beautiful, with a wonderful view from the large terrace over the hills of Piedmonte. The pool, though a bit chilly, was large and has a wonderful view. The staff is very graceful and accomodating, bringing us several bottles of barolo and some impromptu (and gratis)antipasti when we sought shelter from the rain under the pool-side gazebo. The staff is also very knowledgable about the region and its restaurants.

I cannot recommend it more strongly.

While in Monforte, DO NOT miss dining at da Felicin (walking distance in the village) and Trattoria de la Posta...two of the finest meals one can have in Italy.

I don't think I have ever stayed at a more charming hotel. The attention to detail, the design, the atmosphere are all wonderful. The pool is lovely. The buffet breakfast on the terrace is lovely in the sun. It is extremely well placed for local wineries. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

One of the top wineries in Barolo (Luciano Sandrone) recommended this small hotel as a base for our wine tasting and visit to this incredibly lovely region. It did not disappoint. The views of the surrounding mountains and the postcard perfect medeavil city of Monforte d'Alba were lovely. We had a well appointed room and the hotel courtyard, wine cave, and gardens were lovely. Staff helped arrange tasting appointments last minute and recommended a terrific restaurant for dinner. According to the Italian hotel rating system, they have only 3 stars. This was decidedly 4 and priced accordingly. I would both recommend this hotel to friends and return myself.
