Found it hard to find but with Seamus it was easy. Fire was on in stove for us on a cold 3rd Feb. evening which was inviting. Had some welcome scones which was lovely after long drive. This location is quiet and away from all, was very suitable for us as attending Charlestown dog show, the dogs enjoyed the cottage as we did. Five mins took us into Charlestown. We used the double room which is a nice size with plenty of wardrobe space, the bathroom is a good size, and the other bedroom has two single beds. Living area has a large settee and an armchair with the cozy stove for a frosty weekend. I loved the kitchen with all utensils that I would need for cooking and a half door to kitchen. plenty of dvds and books available so in conclusion a very well equipped cottage. And as a Donkey lover the two residents are so cute!
Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need. It was spotless inside and out and so pretty. Stayed for a few days whilst visiting family. Ideally situated for access to Knock airport and those wishing to visit the Wild Atlantic Way. Plenty of Irish hospitality and not the kind manufactured for the tourists. This is the real Ireland forget your phones laptops and wifi and relax properly. We will certainly be back soon.
A sweet cottage ,thanks for the welcome basket.
A great area so peaceful. We visited the atlantic coast Achille islands,Knock shrine, eagles flying was a great day out .We loved the donkeys ,horse and cows in the fields around us .xx man thanks for letting us in early xxx
This cottage was absolutely perfect for our family. It is well appointed with everything you would need for your stay. The area is central to many sites to go see. The area is quiet, has great views and everything was as described. We are sad to leave the donkeys. Tip: They love carrots! Unfortunately, we never got to meet our lovely host, but communication was perfect and quick to respond as well as kind enough to allow us late entry upon check in. Many thanks!!
We had a couple of days touring the local area looking for property to buy. It was lovely to return to the cottage each night, light the fire, cook a meal and settle down to watch TV for a couple of hours before bed. Internet access is good, we just used it for email and browsing because the data is limited. Seamus was great, very friendly and helpful. We had a really nice chat. I particularly enjoyed walking down the lane, the sweet smell of turf fires in the still air and the complete and utter silence, broken only by the birdsong. Fantastic. Can't wait to return.
Having spent a few days at Franks Cottage, all I can say is that it has everything, the cottage is a home from home and is fantastic. the location is perfect for touring around county mayo, and after lots of driving and sightseeing it was great to return at the end of the day and sit back with a beer and chill out with the peat burning stove ablaze. This was in my opinion the perfect cottage and I intend to return again in the not so distant future
