Been to jemma's for lunch. My husband and I waited almost 45 minutes for our meal. I ordered breadfruit pie and got macaroni pie...it's not the type of service we usually get at jemma's. An hour and 15 minutes later, and didn't get a bill. Hmmm

Located in Speyside right on the water and interwined with an ancient tree, Jemmas is a good place for lunch or dinner. It's a good idea to call ahead and check the hours though as sometimes they close early or aren't open. Menu offers a variety of local food fare and was very good. Remember this is Tobago though, so be patient with the wait staff. You get nice sea breezes and scenic views of the bay wherever you sit. High chairs were available for kids. Parking can be tight, so walking or catching a cab might be a god idea. We got a cab for 6 people to and from (staying in Speyside) for $60 TT roundtrip (less than $10 USD) and this included stopping at the waterwheel to explore and take pics. Good restaurant with decent prices. Probably the best
non-hotel dining option in Speyside.

Superb use of fresh, local ingredients at very reasonable prices and in a truly friendly setting. Check the opening times though before you visit.

Everybody mentions Gemma's so thought we must give it a try. After catching someone's eye our order was taken after twenty minutes. When after another half an hour goes by we have to ask if we can have our drinks. There were four of us, two get their meals and then they brought our chips and said we would have to wait three minutes for the chicken which turned out to be fifteen minutes so with cold chips wasted we tucked into the chicken.

The food was great but service awful. Would we recommend Gemma's only if you have lots of time to waste.

We visited Jemma's on New Year's eve 2013. It was our first real local meal in Tobago, and we loved it! The fish was delicious, but the bread fruit pie was seriously to die for! We would definitely recommend!
