Stayed one night in the resort, but I need to stress that we stayed in the new huts that they are actually constructing and that are an upperclass version of the existing huts (of course, also more expensive, though €63/night, dinner and breakfast included was still more then reasonable for Oman). The new huts have all facilities needed (private bathroom, fridge, very good beds, hardly used towels,...) and even not needed (flatscreen tv). Dinner and breakfast were more then OK, and we slept very well... Nothing negative to mention and you are right at the beach and 10 minutes away from Ras Al-Jinz for the turtle watch (by car).

Several style rooms. Bath attached, common etc. all palm leaved huts with split AC.
A little crude, but clean & very friendly crue. You have to stay for atleast 3 days to really enjot the serene calmness of this remote outpost. Very different from a hotel room, creak side. Expensive for the provisions, but we felt this price not high if you value the atmosphere. We went off season & was lucky to find a lone green turtle. During season (july-aug) this place can be crowded & the atmosphere at resort & Ral Al Jinz centre would be very different. I prefer to stay away from crowd.

Stayed here with 3 young children who loved the beach....safe for swimming, snorkeling and fishing. Rooms had air con and attached bathroom...more than adequate for an overnight stay considering the ultimate purpose for this trip was to see the turtles, not to stay in 5 star luxury. Dinner and breakfast were included in the room rate. Dinner consisted of soup, bbq chicken and breaded fish with rice, salad and fries, followed by ice cream. Breakfast was cornflakes and eggs done to your liking. Overall we had a very pleasant stay....it is basic but clean and staff are very obliging.

Room Tip: Rooms with air con and attached bathroom are best

Turtle Beach Resort location is absolutely perfect, very quiet and clean place. The sunrise view is great over the bay in the morning... it has beautiful and calm bay which offer great swim. My kids enjoyed swimming and the boat trip was great we have seen hundreds of dolphins and green turtles in the water.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I would certainly recommend anyone to stay at this resort and we will probably back again. Have those epic moments you've always wanted, plan a trip and be here to have a splendid time with your family. (Like us)

Turtle Beach Resort is a very nice place to stay. They have a clean beach, boat shape restaurant and Bar. My family enjoyed it, well probably come back again. This is the first time we came in Oman & it was nice to chose this small resort.
Many things you can do here like dhow trip, dolphin watching & turtle watching at Ras Al Jinz which is 20 mins away. My children enjoyed playing billiards, valleyball & swimming/snorkeling.
The food was great, staff are very friendly & helpful. Our stay was memorable as we only traveled once a year. Its good to come & see the place than reading those comments from here. For us it was an excellent place to stay. Peaceful place and clean.

If I had to describe this place in one word, it would be: DISGUSTING!
The whole place is dirty, the huts are dirty, smelly and I don't even want to talk about the bathrooms. We even saw some rats around the camp. The crew is not friendly at all and the food is horrible. I'm sorry I can't say ANY positive aspect about this place, maybe that's it's just in front of the beach but the rest makes the experience not worthy.
I definitively DON'T RECOMMEND this place at all.

Dear oh dear. What should have been a complimentary experience to the Green Sea Turtle protection program in the Sultanate of Oman turned out to be the usual Oman tourism experience - overpriced, amateurish, and no understanding of how to give tourists a unique experience.
Firstly, this place needs to decide on a market it wants to capture, and with some forethought and appropriate investment, it will succeed. The location is great and the basic concept is cool, but are they after backpackers, couples, families or high end? At the moment it seems they are trying to get everyone in, charging high prices, and delivering 1-2 star service.
Issues:
- We stayed during a long weekend. There are unfinished buildings under construction left unattended for the weekend. This includes ladders, nails, power tools (yes power tools!) lying around for the kids to play with. Given one of these buildings was obviously going to be a shaded area for guests, perhaps a deadline for completion should have been for the long weekend.
- Summer in the Sultanate can be brutal as far as the heat goes. Metal playgrounds that are not covered by shade, standing in sand, will not endear the owners to parents whose children get scalded.
- There is not a blade of grass in the whole resort. It is sand and rock.
- The staff are typical of those working in the Middle East - quick with a smile but effectively clueless about anything else except how to put a salt and pepper shaker on your table. Sometimes with salt and pepper in them.
- The resort is obviously trying to link with the potential tourist dollar related to the turtle watching experience at Ras Al Jinz Scientific and Visitor Centre, some 20 minutes away by car. The turtle watching ties in with environmentalism and protection of native habitat. This resort is strewn with washed up fishing nets, anchor lines, plastic bags, and perhaps worst of all, uncountable amounts of discarded marine engine oil bottles. There was not a single attempt by any member of staff to clean up this filth that we saw, and given the quantity of rubbish, they never have.
- The menu is very basic. Rice with chicken, fish with rice, rice with chicken and fish. Prices are ok.

Positives
- The restaurant is fashioned after a traditional trading dhow, and has a lot of charm. It is complete with a bar, pool table, "stage" area and all day coffee.
The shared toilets and showers are cleaned to a good standard three times a day.
- Not much else.

The Fix
Choose the market.
- For backpackers, it is already set up. Drop the accommodation prices.
- For Couples, reduce the amount of local day visitors who come just to perve on European women. Infuse the restaurant and bar with some romantic lighting etc. Improve the menu to include a la carte, western style food. Dress the rooms up a bit. They are very, very basic.
- For families: Grass and shade for the children.
- High End: Demolish and start again.

The resort is building more accommodation, but completion date is unknown. It appears each new room will have a bedroom and en suite. Until then, it appears as if those rooms where the air con dies will simply not have the air con repaired. We tried to book two rooms but could only get one with air con. There were lots of rooms with air cons fitted, but not functioning. They were empty.

The resort needs attention, and quick. The "viewing platform" looked more like a guard tower out of a bad Chuck Norris movie.

Damn, this should have been better. You can stay atRas Al Jinz Scientific & Visitor Centre instead. We will be doing that next time.

Room Tip: ONLY book air con and en suite rooms.
