We stayed at the Blue lagoon resort for 5 nights and would definitely recommend the resort.
The location is postcard perfect, with beautiful beaches that you can still swim in at low tide, and very good snorkelling within 100 metres of the beach.
The food was very good, and the accomodation great, especially for the price.
The staff were friendly and there were plenty of activities to keep you busy if you prefer not to relax all day. The trip to the caves was well worth it and only 30 minutes away. Remember to take some change on the cave visit if you want to buy local souvineers sold by the villagers.
We took the good reviews on trip adviser into account when dicing where to stay and we are very satified with our stay at the Blue Lagoon.

Blue Lagoon Beach Resort is a fantastic location for a family holiday, where you can experience the Fijian culture in a laid back quiet location without the commercialisation of a large resort.
We travelled there on the Yasawa Flyer, which was a five hour trip, but being a beautiful day, it was a great way to see the islands. The experience is first class from when you step of the boat and are met by the friendly staff with mocktails and songs.
It is a spectacular location with sunsets to die for, all day swimming in the beautiful beach and coral that starts only metres from the waters edge.
We travelled with our two young boys, 5 and 7, who initially were the only kids at the resort, but they had a great time playing with the hermit crabs and snorkeling straight off the beach. The fact you could walk straight in and follow the edge of the reef out made it very easy for the kids to aclimatise to the increasing depth of water without freaking out as they do on outer reef snorkels! The kids were well looked after by the staff who all knew their names in a day or so. The food for them was fresh and plentiful (the kids loved the pizzas....as did the parents...) and having the 6.30pm meal time for the kids was ideal. They also really liked the child minder, Tupou, who they enjoyed spending the evenings with while we got to eat our meals.
The food was really nice and plenty of it. The staff were very friendly and very helpful (a point more obvious when we went onto another more commercial resort). Drinks, activities and hire equipment were all very reasonably priced and there was no charge to visit the village or church service which both included boat trips.
Highlights were definately the Palm Villa rooms (fantastic!), the snorkelling on your doorstep, meeting other travellers from all walks of life at meal times, the cave dive, the village visit including the wonderful school kids, the hike over the mountain to the village, the sunsets, the staff....all of them so friendly, and Mel and Justin for making us so welcome, looking after us so well, and answering all our questions and requests without hesitation.
Our departure on Turtle Airways (while rushed and didnt allow us to thank personally our hosts) was the most wonderful end to our stay at BLBR and one the kids wont ever forget as our seaplane whisked us 30 minutes away to our next island destination.
We will definately be trying to get back to the best beach in the world with the most enjoyable resort we have been to.

Room Tip: Families - definately go with the Palm Villas

I enjoyed my stay as single traveller in the dorm. It's an amazing resort - dreams come true!

there is no point for criticism - it's all true what the people under my post wrote. The only point is maybe that you can recognize that BLBR is managed by no-fijians cause it's soo well structured everything.

anyway: outstanding resort! go there if you get the chance to go...

We are very flattered by this guest glowing review! Thanks for the great feedback! We would just like to mention that although we are an Australian couple managing the resort, the hard work is done by the rest of our staff who are ALL Fijian! From our Office Manager, Restaurant Manager, Executive Housekeeper and Chief Engineer to all of the beautiful smiling faces that you will meet while you are at Blue Lagoon - the staff are all from Fiji and the vast majority are also from the local island of Nacula. From all of us here at Blue Lagoon Vinaka vaka levu!

We thank this guest for their great review! We are so pleased that they felt relaxed and pampered at Blue Lagoon. We are quite surprised to hear that this reviewer thought there were bed bugs in our dorm. We have a very thorough maintenance system to prevent bed bugs at the resort. We contract an external company to come up to the island for monthly treatments and our housekeeping staff also conduct daily checks of all the beds when the rooms are cleaned. Thanks again for the positive feedback and we look forward to welcoming the reviewer back to this “stunning and beautiful” place.

This resort is simply amazing! I have travelled all over the world and stayed in all levels of accomodation -- this was one of the best on every level. I stayed in a Deluxe Garden Villa (Villa 11)and LOVED it! Loved the outdoor bathroom! The staff are amazing. Mel and Justin had just arrived when I was there but you would have thought they had been there for years! All of the staff are very friendly and if you're there for more than 1 night they know you by name. This resort is very secluded yet there is lots to do if you're interested. Definitely recommend the cave trip and the visit to the village. I dove a few times and the shark feeding dive is a must do. Very personal service with Joedi and Jim in the dive shop. I did several excursions with Vatilly and he is an excellent guide. I injured myself on a hike (I would like to stress this was totally due to my uncoordination, nothing to do with the resort). Vatilly was very patient and helpful getting me back to the resort. Justin was great changing my bandage everyday! The beach and water are awesome. You can swim all day (unlike alot of other resorts) I can't say enough good about this resort. It was very clean, staff are above amazing, food is good and it is in potentially the most beautiful place ever! I really hope to make it back here one day.

I was actually at BLBR in Dec 2010 - I am a little slow in posting this!

I have not words for the best place to stay in Fiji, and probably one of the nicest spot on this planet, after travelling in several islands I went back twice and now waiting for a few days to escape again into Paradise, you´ll not be dissapointed in any way, everyone find their pace once there.
Rooms and toilets are spotless, bar, food, staff, local community and everything or everyone you see are happy over there.
Blue Lagoon Resort rocks.

Room Tip: Tried different rooms, all is excelent.

We stayed at the Blue Lagoon Resort in early May for 4 nights. My only complaint - It wasn't long enough! From the moment we arrived, it was the most magical place on this earth. The accommodation was clean and modern - we paid a little more and got a beach front villa. It was worth every cent. We felt that little more special being able to wake up with the villa shutters open looking out at the ocean, and our private sun lounges were a nice treat. I have never loved not having to wear shoes - anywhere or any time - so much! The food was just wonderful, and the bar staff were fantastic. The food package was perfect for us in that there is no 'buffet' style dining, and every meal was just like home cooked! The communal dining was also a nice change, we met lots of lovely people. I have to make special mention to 'Mel' the resort manager who was extremely friendly and hospitable, and made our stay comfortable and most enjoyable.I really dont think you could find a more picture perfect place to stay, and the snorkelling is just great. I really could go on for hours about how good this place is! I cannot wait to book another trip back - but next time, will be staying in one of their amazing new family villa's! Vinaka to the staff at The Blue Lagoon for their wonderful service, you truely are all beautiful people!
