Owner description: A Museum that narrates the history of Anchovy, from the legend to present days, through ancient documents, tools used for fishing and salting.
Reviewed February 12, 2018

The Anchovy Museum in Aspra is a little gem and not to be missed! You think it's going to be about just anchovies, but it turns out to be about much, much more. This extraordinary little museum brings not just anchovies, but also the fishermen and culture of Sicily to life. Along the way one is treated to an array of historical objects that celebrate how anchovies and humans have been entangled with each other over the centuries. And to top it off, Michelangelo is a brilliant historian, storyteller, and raconteur! Without a doubt, the highlight of my trip to Sicily!

I am visiting family in
Aspra. We went to this museum and it totally touched my heart to learn the history of my grandfather's village. Michael Angelo was a gracious guide and I loved it when he sang to me! I highly recommend a visit to this museum. You won't be sorry!

Michelangelo is legendary for his passion and hospitality - and is a born entertainer to boot. You will quickly be asking yourself: "Why wasn't I interested in an anchovy museum?" The history and stories are fascinating and new worlds appear. Fun? It was a blast!

Sono molto fortunato di aver trovato questo museo un evento un degli giorni in cui fosse a Bagheria. Un bel posto e la storia qui. Michelangelo fa un ottimo lavoro di rendere questo storia interessate e affascinante.
I am very lucky to have found this museum and an event there on one of the days I was in Bagheria. Wonderful location and history. Michelangelo does an excellent job making this history interesting and fascinating. I was also fortunate to have seen Tango Disiu: le musiche dei porti play a set of music from the sea, including poetry from Michelangelo.

we've received by Michelangelo as old time friends. All surroundings are fantastic, the expo is small but simply beautiful and all this implication of the art into the art of doing best anchovy's fillets is without any comparison. When Michelangelo sings and plays for us Sapore di sale we've feel in a fairy tale
