Having stayed here in excess of half a dozen times we are sorry not to have reviewed it yet!

Some 45 mins from Faro set off the beaten track in a hamlet called GALLE! Direct os the sea some 5mins from a lovely Sechluded creek!

Local Ali Super (mini maprket) within walking distance.

Car absolutely essential

Villas immaculately clean pool and all gardens and communal areas well kept.

A great family environment .

Maid service friendly and very helpfull.

We visit in October for a weeks golf! Weather still pleasant in the high twenties 25!

Plenty of local restaurants at very good value

This was the second time that we stayed at these villas.

On our first visit we had said what a wonderful view you had from the balcony and second bedroom, nothing has changed with this as nothing has been built in front of the villas since we were there last time. Through the day you have the wonderful view and at night it is great to sit out on the balcony looking at the stars with a bbq. Even the bbq was cleaned out every day for you.

Inside is still as clean as ever with all the appliances that you need in the kitchen.

Bedrooms are clean and are cleaned nearly every day and linen changed during the week.

Bathroom were spotless and again cleaned on a regular basis with towels changed fairly often.

Pool area still has plenty of sunbeds and parasols and the pool bar is still there. No need to take any money down to the pool as you just pay your pool bar bill when you leave.

Tennis rackets can also be hired.

Nothing is too much trouble to any of the staff who are all friendly and helpful.

Onlyfive/ten minutes walk to Gale beach which is still lovely and clean, although the water this year was freezing.

Will definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone thinking of going to Gale.

Room Tip: All villas look identical and have excellent views out to sea.

We spent 2 fantastic weeks at Villas Rufino. A beautiful ocean view, very comfortable houses, very clean, beautiful garden with a huge swimmingpool, tenniscourt and a extremely friendly service from the owners and personnel. Close to some very nice beaches, golf courses and very good restaurants. Even to prepare a meal yourself the kitchen is very well equipped (even with a dishwasher!) We can recommend Villas Rufino to those who like to spend their holidays in a quiet surrounding and who like to combine all this with some sportive activities. We will certainly come back here.

I second what the others have said about the villas. They're fantastic value, comprising of kitchen (decent size), downstairs toliet and large lounge/dining area. This has patio doors which open on to the seaview terrace (which is a very good sizing hosuign 2 sun loungers, wooden table and chairs and BBQ). Upstairs is a bathroom, 1 twin room and 1 double room. We have 2 very young children and in our villa they were in the large twin with the balcony - which we kept locked at all times.
Reception is small and friendly, the kids club is 10.30-12.30 (included in the price). Marta who runs this is great - she does colouring, play doh, takes them onto the tennis courts to play football, takes them to see the chickens, plays on the swings etc.
If you wish to truly self cater I suggest you take the following with you - scouring pad, dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, salt, washing up liquid and tin foil (for some reason its very expensive in the Algarve!).
Don't expect anything in the way of useful literature in your villa, so make sure you do your research on places to visit etc before you go. The villas are in 2 rows of 10. 1, 10, 11 and 20 end of row villas, so less overlooked and noise from your neighbours.
Wouldn't hesitate in recommending these villas to anyone - just make sure you hire a car and remember Gale doesn't have a centre as such, just a very nice beach.

The other reviewer described the villas perfectly. The location looking over the ocean could not be bettered, how wonderful to wake up to that view each morning. The grounds and the outside of the villas had great attention to detail, the photos on the website are just as it is. The maid service was excellent, we had serveral towel changes during our 10 day stay. Manuela the manager/caretaker was very friendly, she didn't speak much English but we got by, we pointed out a few things missing from the kitchen and she replaced them immediately. However, we did feel that the inside could do with a little attention. The shower was a dribble although it was hot so we could get clean, we didn't try the bath as it would probably take forever to fill. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable but I realise some might prefer a hard bed. The pillows were very small and lumpy so the sleeping experience wasn't too great. There were only about 6 hangers in the wardrobe. These things didn't by any means ruin our holiday but it would be nice to see a bit spent on them although we only paid £37 per night for the whole villa in April so we can't complain at the price. We too noticed that the walls were very thin and crying babies or rowdy teenagers were certainly heard through them but this was only on two nights. In our villa the twin room was not the room with the balcony which I think is sensible as children might be sleeping in the twin room. The twin room is a lot smaller than the double room but both have large wardrobes but there is no dressing table in twin room. Worth a note is the fact that the pool bar wasn't opened during our stay so its probably only open during high season but not really a problem. We've been holidaying in the Gale/Castello/Vale de Parra area for many years but villas Rufino was a new discovery for us and with the view of the ocean, I think we'll be back.
