Don't be persuaded by the other reviews on this site that eating out in Sal Rei is a doddle because it isn't. Several of the restaurants listed on the web and this site weren't open when we were there at the end of March 2014 and some of the recommended ones were tiny and you couldn't get a table.

On the fourth night we stumbled across El Mirador. The menu is varied, the food excellent and well presented and the service friendly. Plenty of space and a view overlooking the beach. Reasonably priced. You don't need to have lobster and pay through the nose for a decent meal if this is where you go!

After finding it, we simply didn't bother going anywhere else. Saw several recognisable faces on repeat nights. This place gets LOTS of repeat business and it's very easy to see why.

IMHO this is the best restaurant in town bar none. Head and shoulders above the rest!

After the walk from our hotel to Sal Rei along the beach, we stopped here to have a drink. Cosy and charming are words which crossed our mind.
Italian chef welcommed and served us. A lot of positive about the menu can be read on TripAdvisor.

The restaurant is very attractive and comfortable.Alberto the chef/owner is very charming too.
The menu choice is good and the service we received was fine. The food was tasty and the recommended wine was delicious. It cost us 65 euros for the food and drink plus 20 euros for the taxi round trip to and from the hotel. It was a very enjoyable evening ,making a change from staying in the hotel.Afterwards we walked into town to enjoy the music at the Esplanada bar.

This restaurant had been recommended to us. The surroundings were very good, nice tablecloths etc, and excellent view across the harbour.

I think the food was generally good, but to be honest we should have sent our tuna back as we asked for it medium and it was really overcooked. Not any pink showing at all. We had eaten some really excellent tuna in other restaurants so were really disappointed. The rest of the food was all very good, so such a shame.
