This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! Or the drive, if you're staying elsewhere on the island. Kenny makes you feel at home. But most of all. The food is AMAZING! The fish-cakes are SO good and the chocolate-mousse is to die for. The menu is smart, and everything on it is good. And can't be said enough - try the chocolate-mousse! :)

“Magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

We spent a week at Castara Retreats and ate almost every night at its restaurant, run by Kenny Dorner. It’s not that we didn’t like the village restaurants – quite the contrary. But this place is magical. The setting is amazing – you get to watch a gorgeous sunset while downing one of Kenny’s special cocktails. The dinners are fresh and tasty and lovingly prepared by cooks Claudio and Patricia; the barracuda and lamb tagine were fabulous and you shouldn’t miss the chocolate mousse. Equal to the food and drink is the atmosphere which really is why we couldn’t leave it. Kenny is the heart of the place and puts everyone at ease. Wish more restaurants in the world were run by people like him. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

“Great food with an amazing view”

Castara Retreats offer great food with a superb view overlooking the Castara Bay. Service is very good and the staff is friendly. The food and drinks are a bit more pricey than some of the alternatives down in Castara, but I deem it worth the while.

“Wonderful experience”

Kenny is a fantastic host. Went there for lunch with limited funds as the local bank had run out of money and they don't accept cards in the village. We had a very enjoyable meal with dri is for £40

“The complete package, food, drinks, view and hospitality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Kenny and the staff cannot do enough for you to ensure that you have a truely magical experience in the restaurant. The cocktails are to die for! Our favourite was the Pina Colada - lots of calories though! The food was great. Well prepared, beautifully served and fantastic flavours, with an interesting menu - not necessarily things you would normally have at home, which is what we particularly liked, including delicious vegetarian options. And that sunset! What a joy!
