“Boat House Restaurant - Like Casablanca on Castara”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

We first went to the boathouse because it was recommended by locals. Once we had been there, we had trouble going anywhere else! There was something about the food, the location and the ambience that was so authentic and so inviting that we went again and again. In a while we knew the staff, the drummers and the very personable and likable owner, Sharon Taylor. Oh by the way, did we mention that besides the sunsets, the friendly locals and the ambience, the food was to die for and affordable to boot. For us the Boat House restaurant and surrounding Castara embodied the very best of Tobago and we hope to return again and again. We will include some photos that show a little of what we mean including one shot on newyear's eve showing the drumming on the beach right in front of the restaurant. If you ever have a chance go to this wonderful place, DO NOT MISS IT!

“Laid back and delicious”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

We went to the Boathouse twice during our week in Tobago (staying at Parlatuvier). It provided us with a good meal when nearly everywhere else was closed on Sunday evening and so we returned for the much-famed Wednesday evening "special". The atmosphere was very friendly and laid back and it was very popular! There was a choice of very tasty main courses, with a standard side plate of varied and interesting Caribbean vegetable dishes which complemented the main courses very well. There was also a choice of dessert. (Choices were not always a feature of local restaurants!).
Sitting "almost on the beach" we were entertained by excellent drummers and a magnificent stilt walker/dancer/performer.If you're up for it you can join in the limbo dancing competition afterwards - and if you've had enough of their excellent rum punch then you probably will!
