“Cold beer and sunsets”

Love the view from the Boathouse. The beer is cold but the service is a bit iffy. Wednesday night drumming is a blast.

“Simple Caribbean food served in a delightful environment”
Reviewed December 18, 2011

Sharon and Brenton have created a haven of tranquility on the beach (apart from the Wednesday night drumming show) and serve great food at a price that won't stretch a tight budget.
The Lobsters are tasty and as big as you will ever see though discerning Frenchmen might sniff at the melted cheese which is poured over it.

“Boathouse - a place to visit and remember”
Reviewed October 29, 2011

The Boathouse was our place we could call home away from home. Sharon and her spouse took excellent care of all the guests and visitors. A good chat was always there, and books to loan was available. I would certainly like to recommend the shrimp curry/coconut soup, it's amazing :) And the pizza - with tuna and banana will change your mind of pizza for ever! I miss Boathouse, and the drummers on Wednesdays, and I will most certainly be coming back next time when we will be in Castara. Than k you Sharon + spouse :)

“Sea, swim, snorkle, view, beach, bar & food what else do you need?”
Reviewed August 16, 2011

We have been going to the Boathouse ever since we discovered Castara nearly 10 years ago. The bar/restauarant opens out straight onto the quiet beach. Sharon cooks up her internationalish and local food as well as great pizza on Sundays along with sandwiches and snacks. Cold beers and drinks as well as very good icecream. Wednesday is pan night followed by the local drummers working up a sweat till late. A great night out but please be prepared to participate rather than just watch when it comes to doing thelimbo. Easy to do after a few rum punches!. Sharron takes Saturday's off but is open as long as there is someone in the bar the rest of the week.
A perfect ' local ' in a perfect situaltion.

“Great little place for beach cocktails and lunch ........”
Reviewed August 14, 2011

We had lunch at the Boat House twice whilst we were holidaying on Tobago.

The decor is amazing! Boho, shabby chic. It took 3 months to make all the rag bunting which hangs from the ceiling! We fired up with a pre-lunch rum punch whilst vegging out on the beach. Lunch we ate outside on the verandah. Both times I had the chilli squid with fresh baked bread. They will make it as hot as you like! I like mine super-hot and they didn't skimp on the chilli! Wow!

We never visited in the evening but I understand that there is live music every week. Check it out.

Everyone was friendly and chatty. We had a great time and if you are on Tobago you must visit. Castara beach is one of my favourites. Great for both swimming and snorkelling with the bonus of being able to eat and drink at the Boat House as well.
