My family and I booked five rooms over the Easter weekend, going with the Bed and Breakfast package:
Bad - we got there at 2:30 and went to our rooms around 3 after checking in. They still weren't cleaned so my first impression was pretty bad - beds unmade, garbage all around. We werent able to settle in until after 4pm. Oh and no premium liqour at the bars, and the television options are really 3 channels which do not show well in some parts of the hotel.
Good - Auntie Danielle at the kiddies pool is an absolute gem. She was very friendly and extremely professional. She made sure our kids, and the adults too, were well taken care of at all times. For the Easter weekend there was free ice cream, cookies and juices provided for the kids - a welcome bonus. The hotel is definitely kid-friendly (well at least at Easter)
Ok - breakfast was predictable but sufficient - the only downside being a lack of ready utensils. I've been to several hotels in the US and i would not say that Grafton's breakfast was by far worse than most others...it was pretty average.
I would say to future visitors that if you are not taking the all inclusive package (which is really semi inclusive) make sure you have a car since food options are very limited and there isnt a mini mart on the premises for convenience items. The hotel definitely needs some updating - the room furniture and the exterior of the hotel in particular. All in all i expected the worst and was pleasantly surprised in the end.

This hotel requires a maintenance. very dirty bathrooms had to wear flip flops in shower.. Rooms very musty.. staff very unfriendly and unaccommodating.. There was a power outage for 1 day with no credits or anything to accommodate guests.. pool average bar in pool does not work... Hotel is cheap for a reason you really get what you pay for...

This hotel is in a beautiful setting and almost on the beach which is also lovely. I believe it was built around the late 80’s and is still a bit dated however everything in our rooms worked and was clean and comfortable, the gardens were immaculate. There was only one restaurant where you could eat as all inclusive guests - not three as stated, so the advertising needs to reflect this, however the food was always very edible, if not particularly exciting. We went on a special all inclusive deal through Tropical Sky and were very pleased with what we found, however if we had paid the full wack I think we would have been a bit disappointed. Grafton Beach was very quiet with not many tourists staying. If you made a request to the hotel staff they went out of their way to sort it for you but initiative is not a word well known on Tobago which is a delightfully unsophisticated and rural island. Keep your expectations limited to 3* and the slow Caribbean way of life and you will have a lovely restful break.
Some of the reports on here nearly put us off going but we are so glad they did not.

Our wedding was held in the Grafton Beach Resort and I think we made the best decision to have our wedding there. Everthing was done with excellence - the food was scrumptous and the staff was professional. The atmoshere was a little slice of heaven. Our guests were satisfied and enjoyed the event tremedously. We are thinking of having our First Anniversary here and also our mother's 80th Birthday celebration.

We have just returned from a week in this idyllic setting. The hotel reviews are quite damning but we found the staff to be friendly and although the food could be a bit 'samey' it was always hot and tasty. We did spot two out of date yogurts which were removed as son as we made this clear to the staff.
The holiday rep accepted that the hotel should not continue advertising the Neptune restaurant and swim up bar as although they physically exist they are not functional. By the way the former Neptune Bar is a fantastic place to watch the sunset, G&T in hand served in very generous portions.
The room we had overlooked the beach and the view was gorgeous. The decor is a little tired but the fridge, A/C and ceiling fan worked. the room was clean, and the beds very comfortable.
If we had been staying two weeks I think we would have had to go out to eat but for a cheap week of sun we think this hotel was great.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view, check fan and A/C work, as some others told us theirs didn't.

My title says it all....the people were friendly and accomodating from Mr. Nasir at the main bar to Jeffrey at the restaurant on the beach and Junior one of the property mainenance men. I felt right at home with their hospitality. The beach was incredible a bit rough a few days but the scenery was very nice. The room however was another story, management really tried to help me when I had some issues in the first room I received however it was quite obvious that the hotel rooms needed a huge makeover. The main areas were well maintained and the overall staffing of the main areas were friendly and accomodating however the rooms really need a makeover.

Room Tip: I had a room well several near the beach, it was quiet however again not nice.

All I can say is that this hotel is just average. Was there for couple days for a business meeting which was held at the hotel's conference room. The food was the same for two days. Not much variety. It was ok, but the pumpkin choka, was by far the best I have ever eaten. The location is good and you have access to the beach about 2 mins from the hotel. The hotel is a bit run down is all I can say just basic amenities. The t.v remote was not working. I reported it but they did not even bother to check it.
Hopefully my company does not choose the venue again until they upgrade. The room had great views though.

Room Tip: Top room on the western side.
