One of the hidden gems of Europe! Definitely worth a detour. The former monastery contains the only completely painted medieval church north of the Alps - a must see for anybody interested in Art. Also a stunning collection of medieval tapestries. If you want to see all that is on offer, calculate at least three hours for a visit. Individual visits only of the museum (tapestries and other medieval artefacts), the cloisters only by tour (I don't know in which languages - probably German only), which last roughly 1,5 hours. This can be long for children, but the tour was very good, and two teens were also listening very carefully. A spectacular place. Coffee opportunities for a break nearby. Not very crowded.
