Stayed with my stepmother to visit the area my late father loved so much over many years.
The hospitality was outstanding.
Maeve,Donal,Maureen and not so little Jason were so welcoming, as were all the lovely people we met who knew my father.
Clean spacious rooms and a great Irish breakfast in a fantastic rural location.
Maeve could not do enough for us and i will always remember this special break.
Many thanks and hope to see you in 2014.
Peter.

I stayed with Maeve, Donal and little Jason while taking a quick trip to Sligo and Mayo to visit my family after being in Dublin for work. Maeve and her family could not have been more welcoming; the breakfast outstanding (pancakes, eggs, ham) and the room was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave to go back to Dublin! The bedroom was clean and quiet, the shower was wonderful--warm, great water pressure--the bed comfortable and warm. If I mention "warm" a lot, it had been cold and rainy and not very warm in the flat that I had rented in Dublin.

The lodge is in the village of Aclare which is great running country if you run, and everyone in the village is so friendly and would wave at me! So if you are exploring the West of Ireland, staying at the Haggart Lodge B&B is the best decision that you will make!

Im a bit late with this review as we stayed here mid august. Myself, my husband and 2 kids were on our annual trip to knock from cork and while we usually stay in a hotel we decided to give haggart lodge a try. Maeve and her family were so, so nice from the time we arrived until we left. The family bedroom we had was absolutely huge and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was lovely and it was so nice not to be eating a breakfast that had been cooked for hours as can happen in hotels. My daughter was thrilled with her pancakes and hot chocolate! Maeve and her husband (and gorgeous little baby) are delightful hardworking people and we should be supporting the bed and breakfast industry as much as possible in this country!

Fabulous time at Aclare with Maeve and yet again she assisted in connecting me to places and people regarding my ancestry work I am doing. Maeve and her husband both take the time to ensure you have a great experience and I have more information regarding my family this year, so a trip back to Haggart Lodge will be a defo GW.

You would be silly to miss this B and B as it has to be the best in the Sligo/ Mayo area. If you are doing family history around these parts what better place to have as a good base.

Love to all Maeve and see you next year hopefully.

Shelagh

Maeve, Donal & little Jason made us feel right at home, such a beautiful place, nice comfortable beds and a breakfast to keep you going all day. Perfectly placed for exploring the West. Highly recommended.

Truly Amazing Welcome! Spacious Room with great Hospitality, with an absolutely scrumptious Breakfast to top it off! Her Personality was out of this world, as you could chat to her about everything! The area where it was situated was glowing with stunning scenery! Superb in every way possible. Definitely one the best B&B's in Ireland!

A beautiful place to rest in a pastoral Ireland. Big room and enormous bathroom will make your holiday very comfortable. The hospitable hostess will feed you with rich Irish breakfast, which you can vary with hot pancakes&berries. In her leisure minutes you can chat with her about everyday life of Irish farmers, they cattle and sheeps, chicken and foxes, hunting and peat cutting, and - sure - children. Highly recommended.

Dear Zoya, thank you for your kind review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and also the pancakes. Myself and Donal enjoyed chatting to you both about our countries and our traditions, heritage and folklore. We hope you enjoyed the remainder of your time in Ireland and we welcome you both back again to Haggart Lodge and to Aclare. Thank you again for choosing to stay at Haggart Lodge. Regards, Maeve, Donal and family.
