We stayed here on 16th March last. We were very disappointed. We wanted a relaxing night away as a couple unfortunately we got completely the opposite. The hotel was packed and so so busy. We could not get a seat in any of the bars and we had to wait for ages to get served even standing at the bar. This is not what hotels are about. There seemed to be a lot of loud groups of locals also which was very annoying. The food was lovely when we did get a seat in the bar to eat. However in the end we went back to our room at 10pm as we were so uncomfortable with the crowd. We felt sorry for the staff as they were doing the best they could and were very good - no sign of management seating people or helping the staff out which annoyed us also.

Great Spa experience, very relaxing, three hours of total "away-from-it all" serenity! The room was great and the bed was huge! Staff very friendly and helpful, didn`t leave us stranded at any time but did not intrude either! The food was fabulous, presentation and taste were superb. In short we had a super weekend! And we will be back!!

We arrived at the spa around lunchtime on a Saturday as a birthday treat from my Goddaughter. Reception staff were not very friendly and we were directed rather hurriedly to the changing area and not shown the facilities, had we been shown we would not have gone in at all. Some robes and slippers were missing from the lockers, no shampoo in the shower, there didn't appear to be many people there and most of the treatment room doors were open and empty we had booked a Rasul(steam chamber) treatment the only one available on the day. The swimming pool was on the other side of the hotel , there was a steam room , a foot massage pool for 2 at a time ,small hydrotherapy pool , a room with sand on the floor! and a warm room the name of which escapes me. We spent about 1/2 hour in total in all areas and went to the quiet relaxing room, tea and coffee facilities were inadequate , no spoons, the headphones were crackly, and magazines out of date. People clattering around cups and making drinks did not make for a relaxing atmosphere.
We returned our keys and asked for a comment card, they had run out I wonder why. It cost €45.00 for the three of us which I think was egregious.
Check out the facilities before you book in to make sure you are happy, having travelled from the UK for the weekend I was disappointed and have been to swimming pools with better facilities. I feel my goddaughter wasted her money on my birthday treat

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend last week and had an absolutely fantastic time. I stay in hotels regularly for business reasons and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Mount Wolseley is right up among the best I have stayed at.
The room was superb with views of the Golf course and was clean and modern.
The staff were friendly and attentive and made the stay very enjoyable and relaxing.

Worth a 5 star review every day of the week

We visited Mount Wolseley for a three day golf and leisure break. It is in a great location easily accesible by car. There was no entertainment at night time in the Hotel or Bar.
The staff in the golf shop were very helpful and socaible. The view from our room was not very attractive.
Overall we would return again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. Check for music or other entertainment at night.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable and thoroughly relaxing two night stay and I felt I had to write a review to compliment the staff. From the moment we checked in to when we checked out every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful, smiling and extremely accommodating. We have stayed in numerous hotels throughout Ireland and we have never felt more at home than in Mount Wolseley. My husband had a deep tissue massage in the spa and I had a facial and hot stone massage - all of which were excellent. We ate in the bar on the first night and the restaurant on the second. The food in the restaurant was outstanding - the quail starter, beef fillet, trout all perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. I must give a special mention to Eddie in the restaurant who was both helpful and friendly without being intrusive at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was also very good and well presented. It was a pleasure staying there cant wait to return.

We stayed here the night we booked the Santa Train in Rathwood as did not fancy the long trip home. Absolutely beautiful hotel with lovely attentive team of staff. We dined in the bar and it was really lovely, breakfast the next day was also great. We were upgraded to the Yorke suite which was absolutely beautiful, highly recommend it if travelling with a little one. I work in a 5 star reosrt myself and am very picky as you would expect but I have to say mount Wolsely is one of the loveliest Hotels Ive been honoured to stay at. Will be back to try out the Spa :)

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Yorke Suite
