Food was delicious, from starter to dessert. Service was excellent and we were served both by the chef herself and the waiter. We were lucky too that when we visited it was early during a week night and we had it to ourselves for most of our meal. They also sell the homemade bread in loaves and several people came in to buy this during our meal. We had it served with our meal and it was the best bread we had ever eaten. Just everything about this was pure class.

“Beautiful location and great atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

I have eaten at Harkins a number of times and my most recent visit last weekend did not disappoint. We received a warm welcome from the owner and had a lovely table inside but still overlooking the Shannon. The menu was wide and varied but all options I tried were delicious and carefully cooked. The service was warm and attentive but at the same time not overbearing and all requests our table had were immediately attended to. Our meal was excellent value for money and I'm looking forward to our next visit.

“Superb food and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

Whilst boating on the Shannon moored overnight at lovely little harbour in Dromod. The bistro overlooks the harbour looking across the lough. The weather was wonderful so we sat outside at one of the tables - idyllic. The service was personalised and friendly, without being fussy.

The food was well cooked, and portion sizes generous. Cost for meal and drinks reasonable, especially was alternatives in Dromod limited. Would recommend.

“Intimate dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

The restaurant is small and intimate and overlooks a lovely small harbour. Good service and hospitality. If you are looking for good value for money it is a little on the expensive side. The monkfish on a bed of rice was not really to my liking. Nevertheless, an enjoyable dining experience.

“Fantastic venue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

On the way to Sligo we dropped into Harkins after reading about them in the Irish Times the week before - we sat outside overlooking the harbour and the river - it was one of those rare summer evenings in Ireland, warm, no wind and lovely - could have been abroad it was so nice.

The service was extremely friendly and helpful and when the food arrived it was equally as good. Would highly recommend Harkins to anyone for its beautiful setting, service and excellent food.

Thanks guys for a most enjoyable experience. - pity we where not staying overnight and could have enjoyed some wine and really soak up the atmosphere.
