“Tasteless, bland, non-Caribbean”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

The setting was promising. We got there early and was advised to book which we did. Sat on the beach and had a few beers. Great setting overlooks the Caribbean.
We had fresh fish - shown to us before it was grilled. Served with ratatouille and plain boiled rice. There was no seasoning on the fish - parrotfish and red snapper - it was bland! With hindsight we should have asked for condiments but that is not the West Indian way. Ketchup and relish on a burger but not on fish! Ratatouille was good but ricw and fish left a lot to be desired. Certainly not value for money.
Dessert - salty caramel ice cream - was lovely.
Can't say that this is a place I would re-visit.

Thank you for your review, we regret that you were disappointed with the fish. Our Chef meets the fishing boats at 4am daily and chooses the best quality available. To maintain the integrity of the product, the fish is cooked and served in a pure manner.
Please try us again when next in Antigua, we will do our very best to win you back...and don't ever hesitate to ask us to "pass the hot sauce"
Safe travels,
Lance Leonhardt

“Good food - but WOW was it expensive - beware!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Have just returned from a trip to Antigua and had the most amazing time. 4 of us had lunch at Jacqui O's - 4 main courses (we all had fish of the day) and 2 puddings along with 2 coffees and some beers. No wine! The food was good - however the bill was frankly astronomical - over £100.00/couple (yes - £ sterling) for EACH couple. VERY over priced - lovely setting but wow do you end up paying for it. NEVER again!

Thank you for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed our food and regret you found it expensive. We use only the freshest products available, our fish is priced per pound and is fresh daily.
Safe travels,

“Worth the trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

We stopped at Jacqui O's for lunch and what a surprise it was. The setting was beautiful and the food fantastic. A quick bite turned into a 3 hour stay and we loved every minute. Lance good luck on your new venture. We are looking forward to coming back soon.

“Fine dining on the beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

Dropped in with Shauna to Jaqui O's for lunch to meet the new owner. A chilled glass of Pinot Grigio and a delightful lobster amuse bouche to open with, followed by parrot fish, served with ratatouille and jasmine rice. Followed it down with tiramisu (one portion-two spoons!) and an excellent espresso martini. Perfect lunch and a fantastic setting. Food was exquisite, and the service excellent, and Montserrat as clear as a bell. Lance turns out to be a genial host, and a rather interesting man, with an abiding interest in food, wine and all the good things of life. This has jumped straight into my list of favourite Antigua restaurants. Well done guys, and long may you stay.

“Beach Wedding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

My new husband and I got married at Jacqui O's just before sunset. The sun sets directly in front of the restaurant so that made a lovely backdrop for photos. Rachel, the Maitre D', and Lance, the owner, were incredibly helpful on the day without being intrusive. The food was first class and beautifully presented by Kersley, the chef.

This venue turned out to be the most romantic setting and perfect for our small group of 10. We thought we'd feel a bit lost in the restaurant but Rachel arranged it so well that we felt like we were in a beautiful home. I can't say enough good things about it and would highly recommend it as a wedding venue should you be thinking of getting married in Antigua
