Our visits to Sheer Rocks are amongst the highlights of every trip to Antigua - and this time was no exception.

The location and view is unparalleled - but even against the stunning backdrop it is Alex's amazing food that steals the show. The tapas was, as ever, sublime and the perfect lunchtime treat for the Caribbean climate. Sadly we hadn't appreicated that tapas is available every lunchtime until the penultimate day of our holiday, otherwise it could have been a very expensive trip! The fish dishes are expertly crafted, with subtle flavours enhancing the incredibly fresh local ingredients. But it is essential to leave enough room for the trio of desserts. The lemon tart is a joy, the chocolate souffle devine and even the banana and almond custard is delicious - which is praise indeed from someone who professes to hate cold custard (a hang up from school dinners I'm afraid).

We also enjoyed the new dinner menu and were just disappointed that our appetites couldn't quite extend the the tasting menu - but at least we have something in reserve for our next visit. The lobster raviloli was light, fresh and delicious and my starter must have been excellent as I offered a spoonful to my other half, who got completely carried away and ate the lot!

Alex also rustled up some nibbles from the two menus for us to share with friends at cocktail hour one evening. The Wahoo, which is a starter from the dinner menu, was melt-in-the-mouth and adored by the entire group.

Go to Sheer Rocks with time on your hands to enjoy the view and an acceptance that great quality ingredients, exquisitely prepared, come at a price.

We are delighted to see this family business thrive and amazed that the owner/chef always makes time to come out and personally greet the guests, however busy the restaurant may be. I have absolutely no doubt that Sheer Rocks will continue to be the highpoint of our holiday as long as Alex and his fantastic team are in place. Our thanks to you all.

I am used to NYC dining, so my standards are high. We tried the tasting menu with the pairing. The food was great! The fish dishes really excel but the meat dishes are also great. Service is a bit lacking, but the wine pairings were surprisingly great as well. The view is lovely and it is a nice option for individuals who are staying at Coco bay Resort.

First of all, the location was fantastic, high above the rocks and sea.
We were treated wonderfully. The owner/chef took our reservation, seated us and cooked our food. The food was delicious, and prepared beautifully. Our whole family ages 9 months to 60 years loved it. We were seated in a very private alcove and felt like we were the only people there.

We found the setting and food the best the island has to offer. Our children enjoyed their food as well. The drinks were vey good too. This is what you imagine of great food in a tropical destination.

Sheer Rocks is a wonderful restaurant serving thoughtful, well executed cuisine in a top location. As all the reviews say the views are great and staff couldn't be more helpful or charming.

We enjoyed an evening meal here while staying at a nearby resort and we're very glad we made the effort.

As we plan to return to Antigua again next year we will absolutely be back to Sheer Rocks.
