pleasant ,plush ,few kids ,staff ace!!!! rooms were nice and big great villa with a awesome view of the sea. set backs .... <snorkeling >was not so hot there had to leave to Long bay Beach a few minute walk from resort and then had to rent chair umbrella and buy drinks. I hurt my hip dancing and they sent me a crutch pronto Noel the manager was so accommodating and made my stay a great one thanks !!! the food was good but you had to serve yourself unless you paid extra for a Ala cart bistro. they jammed in the evening and the drinks were top shelf!!! The shuttles they provided were great since mom is up there in years. loved the people who were staying at
the resort.

Room Tip: if u have a 3rd person the cot may not be suitable for a bad back

Staff is rude in general apart from nice exceptions at the restaurant. Very hard mattress. Housekeeping is unconsiderate and comes to the room whenever they want and not when you request it. Porters seem to be interested in other things rather than driving the shuttles which are scarce although very much needed because you have to walk a lot within premises. Food is fine for an all inclusive (not at the beach grill restaurant!) and have very good brands for drinks. Beaches are small but cozy.

Dear Guest, we are sorry you had a bad experience with regards to customer service. Delivering a high standard is very important to us, so it is disappointing to read that this was not the case. Housekeeping do have to work to a rota to service the entire resort every day, we are sorry if you found the service intrusive and they were unable to accommodate your specific request. If the resort was running at 100% occupancy, this may have been the reason as they tried to service all rooms. Thank you for your comments, they will be shared with Management.

We loved the resort for one big reason...the service was AWESOME...we have been to other all-inclusive resorts where the staff can be somewhat "disinterested" or not motivated to provide their best service...we loved how every staff member made eye contact, said hello and provided their best service with a smile...

We had a bungalow ("Croton") very close to the pool and beach....though if our bungalow were located closer to the reception area, those "further" locations would have been more of a turnoff...not that walking 0.25- 0.4 miles to the beach is huge deal...but we LOVED our location

Room Tip: Choose a room closer to the pool and restaurant...these bungalows are also closer to the "all a...

This was our second visit to this wondeful resort so please also see our previous review of 2010. It is a fabulous resort with first class accommodation, staff, food, gardens and views. Being second tme guests, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne and a fresh fruit selection on arrival as well as a complementary voucher to the gourmet restaurant "Nicole's". The holiday was a week of of total relaxation and we returned fully rejuvenated. This is a "must" resort for those who just want to get away from it all in beautiful surroundings.

Room Tip: Any bungalow overlooking water or a room near the amenities.

We stayed at The Verandah for a week and hoped that being part of Elite Resorts it would be as good as Galley Bay where we have stayed previously.

We loved the bungalows, very spacious and clean, we had a waterfront room which was lovely, very spacious bathroom with powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Food wise it was all good quality and plenty of variety, they need to work on their chips though - always cold and a bit limp - but that is a very minor thing. Very slick service from staff at the bars and in the restaurant. Plenty of sunbeds everywhere and at any time of the day. The quiet beach was perfect for us as we were on a babymoon so wanted R&R, with the exception of some loud Canadians who decided to see how loud they could be on the beach - we drew the line when the asked the bar lady to turn the music right up and told them to turn it off - if you dont want peace and quiet then don't come to the quiet beach! A lovely breeze is always constant in the hot Antiguan sun as you are on the Atlantic side of the island, and Long Bay beach next door is lovely for a walk and snorkel - pretty good coral reef there too.

The down sides were small, the WiFi charges in the room are extortionate, but then they do provide free WiFi at the pool areas, They want to charge you $25 for a shower when you leave (its more to keep your room on), which I find ridiculous, I have never stayed at a hotel where there isnt somewhere you can take a quick shower for free, so we used one of the pool showers and the toilets to get changed in. They also need soft close draws in the room so you dont have to hear or disturb your neighbours with draws constantly banging!

We got the R&R we needed, it wasnt Galley Bay but it wasnt as expensive either, so all in all good value for money.

Room Tip: I would recommend Waterfront - the best unobstructed views and away from the buggy route and main en...

We chose the Verandah as a change from the usual all inclusive and it delivered. Anybody who says the staff were unfriendly may not have taken the time to joke and laugh with them. We were a group of four and found the staff to be helpful, friendly and fun. It all depends on you. We loved the bungalows with their huge verandahs and views of the ocean even though we didn't pay extra for it. Plenty to do in the resort and always something available in the watersports area. We loved how casual they were with towels, no signing up in the morning for a boat in the afternoon, always something available;no wrist bands needed and lots of loungers so no towels and books on loungers from 7am, something that always bothers us in other resorts. We particularly loved that unlike most AI resorts in the caribbean they didn't have the usual shows at night but instead had great bands who interacted with everybody and got people up dancing. We toured the island and St. John's and found beautiful beaches everywhere almost deserted. We also found a great restaurant called Jackie O's, definitely worth a visit for it's great atmosphere and their beach with loungers, free to patrons. The Antiguan people we found to be friendly and helpful as we toured the island. We would definitely recommend this resort as a change from the normal huge impersonal all inclusive resorts.
