What an amazing beach! Wonderful soft white sand, and well serviced local restaurant. The only thing that spoiled it for us was the bobbing parties of cruise ship visitors soaking up more rum than sun. That was 'out of season'. So I wonder what happens in high season!

We spent a few hours at Turners Beach during a day of sailing. The beach is a little slice of heaven. Crystal blue waters and a nice little restaurant to meet your needs for refreshments and bathroom facilities. It was not crowded by any stretch and they had loungers and palapas for shade. My son had fun collecting shells along the beach. It was really a beautiful beach and a definite highlight of our trip to Antigua.

Turners is my favourite beach on the island. I have never known it be crowded and quite often we are one of just a few couples on the beach. The sun beds are 5 dollars each and the permanent shades are free. The beach does shelve a bit as you enter the sea but the water is clear and great for swimming.
The beach bar has been refurbished and is looking good. I believe this is a result of being a cruise ship shore excursion now. The menu is however a bit limited and not all items are available. The beach vendors are friendly and don't hassle you.
If you are staying at Jolly Harbour the beach is a straightforward bus journey. Price 2.5 ECD each way or take a taxi.

Turners is a long stretch of beach, on the lovely West Coast. It has several distinctly different areas, which are generally differentiated by the bars/restaurants situated there.

The Northern end (which is really Crab Hill) has Jacquie O's (formerly Gibsons), then OJ's marks the start of Turners itself. As you go south, you'll find Keyonna, and finally Turners beach bar.

The last of these can get busy on cruise ship days with taxi buses dropping large numbers at the beach, which can also mean louder music and more vendors.

It's not anywhere near Bolans (the villages nearby are actually Crab Hill and Johnson's Point), but is easily reached on a #22 bus from St Johns or by taxi.

I've visited this beach almost every other year since 1996 when I and a few companions would be the only visitors all day. A glorious expanse of beach to ourselves but that is typical of July /August when for some reason their tourist season is over!! Today however, Turner's beach has become fairly well known, with the concierge of your popular Hotel Resort recommending Turner's as an alternative to the bustling tourist beach resorts.

Turner's still enjoys a local flavour... visit the beach between 7am and 12am and 3pm to midnight you'll enjoy, as I have, a beach seemingly isolated - yes a few locals come to bathe and served brunch, lunch and dinner by the family run Turner's Beach Restaurant/Bar but it is tranquil, it is heaven if you are looking for an escape from a typical 08.30 to 20.00 life in 'the city'.

Unusually quiet, very local and laid back atmosphere, but Turner's beach is the closest I've got to tranquility in my otherwise busy life.
