“My favourite”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

What a beautiful beach : it's clean, the umbrellas are free (and you can rent a chair at 5$US) and the sand in the water is soooo soft ! It's calm water and when we went, we were only 6-7 people on the beach, which was cool to have a so quiet beach. The water is crystal blue and...did I say it was my favourite ?!

“Cruise ship stop overs for lunch”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

We were a bit put out that shortly after we sat down a whole crowd of cruise ship tourists converged on the diner making it very noisy and chaotic. The food was not really that good. I ordered a red snapper, but it was dried out and quite small. My partner had chicken curry and he left his. We decided not to have dessert there but took the bus to another restaurant further down the road. Very disappointing.

“A better beach bar on a great beach”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

We ended up at Turners a couple of time, once arriving for lunch whilst driving around, the second time by chartered boat (Miramar). Turners has a great location, seems to be quite new, certainly well looked after, good loos, cold beer and good food of the fish, chicken, burger type (plus curried goat.) The first time we selected fresh cooked items from the menu, on the second visit, the barbecued chicken with fries, rice and beans, sald and vegetables was pre-selected by the boat company and ready as soon as we tumbled ashore.. It all went down a treat.

“Too busy for us.”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Having explored all nooks and crannies of Antigua, we have to disagree with previous reviewers who called this a "quiet" beach. This is NOT a quiet Antiguan beach. There are a lot of services, lots of sun loungers for rent, and generally attracts a boisterous, loud family crowd. We were there for maybe 30 minutes when we realized that this beach was simply not for us, as we aren't looking to rent loungers, buy food, be hassled by vendors, etc. The water is beautiful, but if you are looking for quieter beaches with the exact same type of water and sand, go to Darkwood or Ffryes.

“Good beach for a long swim”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

As a competitive open water swimmer, i sought out places where I could get in a simply go. This was the best I found although short by our standards. Fortunately there are few watercraft that enter the bay/beach. It is quiet and there is a good place for beers and lunch.
