Absolutely spectactular resort hotel in an idyllic location in Antigua, made even more perfect by the wonderful staff that work there. ONeal Richards is the best resort manager we have ever worked with; staff members Mr Gore, Jermaine, Kerry, Sonia, Chef John, Davern, etc all treated us like family. All-inclusive food was top-notch (no need to spend extra $ at Sheer Rocks or any of the local restaraunts in our opinion). Service was beyond our wildest expectations. Staff is nearly perfect in every way. CocoBay will be missed! We will certainly return!!!

Room Tip: Premium waterfront suites are worth the extra $$ if you can fit within your budget

My wife had seen the pictures on social media and the website and assumed they had to have been doctored because there was no way it was that beautiful. Once we arrived she quickly realized how wrong she was...it is actually MORE beautiful than any of the pictures could convey!!

Since it was our honeymoon I had also politely asked for an extra special room so my wife and I could truly relax and enjoy the occasion and spend time together and boy did the resort staff listen!! We were placed in the Fungee cottage, which was the perfect mix of privacy among the trees and bushes but close enough that we could easily walk back and forth to the lobby and pools with minimal effort. And that VIEW from our bed and deck overlooking the water in the morning was breathtaking. Probably the best feature was being able to open the doors to the shower and have unabated views and breezes outside without feeling like others were getting possibly more than they wanted to see either!

I won't spend time rehashing the same comments as many others about the grounds, the restaurant options, restaurant staff or "rustic" nature of the resort. All I would say is if you want marble and statues to feel like you're being pampered, this isn't the place for you. However, if you want a truly special resort to spend time with someone you love without tv's and daily noise of life, don't pass this opportunity for an awesome vacation!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Waterfront Suite. Well worth the extra cost!

Thank you for your review bmjmrj.

They always say a picture is worth a thousand words. Cocobay has proved to be worth a thousand more :)

We are delighted you loved your private and rustic cottage along with your personal plunge pool. Your french doors just added to the charm! I am sure you will be lucky enough to return Cocobay and we are truly grateful for making your holiday memorable.

Once again we thank you for your review and also thank you for the recommendation and we truly look forward to seeing you both back very soon!

We have just come to the end of our eleven night honeymoon at Cocobay and have already planned to return for our five year wedding anniversary! What an absolute dream! I have read many of the negative reviews on here and I just cannot understand them...

The welcome we received when we arrived was fantastic - we were met by many members of staff who shook our hands and seemed pleased to see us, handing us a very welcome glass of rum punch! When we were shown to our room, cottage number 5, it was so beautiful and with such incredible views, we felt we had landed in Paradise! Our cottage was small but beautiful and had everything we needed (including iron, ironing board and hair dryer). The bed was big and very comfortable and had a mosquito net around it, which gave a very romantic feel. We had glass doors which opened out onto our deck area with a hammock, two chairs and our private infinity plunge pool! Our plunge pool had the sun on it all day and was just the right temperature to cool us down after time spent under the hot Caribbean sun. But the most incredible feature of our room was the view. There were only a couple of rooftops and palm trees between us and the beautiful bay. It was an absolute joy to wake up to that view every morning.

The resort itself is absolutely stunning and has a very back-to-nature feel about it. It's all set in lovely gardens with lots of palms and flowers. There are always people working hard to keep it looking perfect.

The bar and restaurant are all open to the elements and you always feel at one with your surroundings. There are lots of tiny, pretty birds around and even a little family of cats which are often on the lookout for a fallen piece of tuna - they are absolutely lovely! You'll also see some Mongooses (yes I checked and that is the correct plural), which are also very cute but leave you alone to go about their business.
The food in the restaurant was always really good. I am vegetarian and I didn't struggle at all. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and there was a great omelette station. Lunch was buffet style too and some great choices were offered. Keep an eye on the specials board as they have some lovely meals on here but you have to ask for them. The dinner menu changed daily and was always very good. You could view the menu at reception every morning when you booked your slot for dinner. The bar was also very good. There is a cocktail menu with about 10 drinks on there, however they will make you anything you ask for. We regularly had strawberry daiquiris and my husband had a couple of espresso martinis, neither of which were on the menu...

The public areas at Cocobay are absolutely lovely! There are two large infinity pools. The main one is by the Rafters bar and has stunning views over the Caribbean sea. There is another one which overlooks the beach. This pool has it's own little bar which also serves paninis in the afternoon. There are also another couple of smaller pools. As you go down the stairs from the main pool there is a small square pool on the right, with a double sun bed next to it. It's lovely as you have it to yourself. There's also a new pool on the left as you go down the steps. We didn't use this one as it wasn't quite finished, but it looked lovely and had a cabana next to it. Again, a private haven!

My husband and I also indulged in a Swedish massage in a lovely little room overlooking the bay. My masseuse, Chantelle was fantastic! The treatments are quite expensive but it was worth every penny!

The beach is only a few steps down from the pool and has plenty of loungers available. The water is lovely and inviting and is reasonably shallow (if you're a wimp like me) but lots of people were swimming further out to do some snorkelling. The resort has it's own kayak and hobby cat which you can take out at no charge. We did this quite a lot and it was a great way to see the bay from the water!

The lady on the concierge desk (sorry I didn't catch her name) was very helpful indeed and booked us an excursion on the Wadadli Cat (I highly recommend this trip). She also helped us to hire a car. I would recommend doing this if you're staying for more than a week as it's a great way to see some more of the Island!

The main thing that makes this resort so special, it has to be said, is it's staff! We encountered some really wonderful people who really made a difference to our stay! To name just a few: Davern, Jermaine, Elvira, Saskia, Cheryl, Arian, Kerry, Danesha, Natasha... These are just some of the names that we took note of, but there are so many more. Thank you all! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

We stayed at coco bay resort for 4 nights. In agreement with other reviews, the location was spectacular, stunning views everywhere you turn. The property, full of colorful flowers and sharp landscaping. Our room was upgraded without request after day 1 to a ocean view bungalow. We were skeptical about limited food choices but were beyond pleased with all of our meals each day. Dinner reservations were required, however we were able to eat at our desired time. The staff waited on us hand and foot from arrival to departure and did
Not hesitate to respond to any of
Our needs. The director O’Neil, made sure to check in daily, helped us to find a gym where we could get our daily exercise, and was an overall pleasure to speak to in passing. We adventured slightly away from the resort and found Valley Church Beach which was breathtaking with the bluest water and whitest sand!

This resort is a sure way to relax. There was a few nights of great entertainment, and excursions offered outside of the resort.

There are a few things that could be improved upon. We quickly found out that all beaches in Antigua were public and regardless of the “adults only” atmosphere of the resort, there were often kids on the surrounding beaches. We are certainly not a couple looking for endless parties on vacation however, some more consistent night time entertainment (lasting beyond 10pm) and possibly
Opportunity to dance to more upbeat music would have been great. From people who eat very healthy and particular, there was wonderful and tasteful choices made available however, we disagreed with the upcharge for certain items on the menus. All inclusive rivals offer endless options of any type of food possible, a guest should not have to pay more for a beef or shrimp option.

Our review is based upon our needs on a vacation. To a couple looking for a Romantic, quiet, relaxing, restful
Vacation, this is a perfect pick. Because we are an active couple, a few more amenities would have perfected our Cocobay stay!
