We recently stayed at Cocobay which was absolutely amazing despite the title of this review! I would definitely stay here again if I was going to Antigua but not in the same room.
You have two pools, a private beach alongside the hotel and two beaches (Ffryes and Valley Church) within 5/10 minutes walk.
Food was fantastic, as with other reviews we didn't eat the same meal twice and the staff are very accomodating if you can't decide what you want. (We did a little mix and match some nights because we couldn't decide!) I would definitely recommend paying the $24 supplement and trying the lobster.
The bar closes at 11pm which felt a little early some nights but the resort as whole is very friendly and we met some lovely people.
Cottages are great so long as you go with the expectation that it's a wooden cottage not a fancy hotel unit. We were in a Sea View cottage which was a double room with plenty of space and large bathroom. The only fault I could find with it was that the view was of the back of the hotel so the noise from Ffryes beach parties at the weekends travels a long way, at one point it felt like our cottage was vibrating. Other guests didn't have the same problem so it must be down to whatever way the double doors are facing. Our cottage also overlooked the driveway so you could hear people leaving & arriving - we were very unlucky as they were replacing the posts each side of the driveway while we were there so the electronic saw was a great alarm clock! Nothing the hotel can do about the noise from the beach parties but a bit of a heads up about the fundraiser that went on til 5am would have been nice.
Wifi and air con are extra $$ but we found we didn't use either. The room temperature was fine with just the ceiling fan on.
I did get small bites but only 4 and my husband who is like cat-nip for mozzies only got 1, which is a record for us. I'd recommend a plug in and covering yourself in Jungle Formula as it worked for us! They also sell one in the shop called 'Off' which was pretty good.
A fantastic holiday in a fantastic place and we met some lovely people but take some ear-plugs if you are in (sea-view) rooms 28/29/30. Just in case...

Room Tip: Avoid Sea View Rooms that overlook the driveway if you can. The view is still lovely but they are no...

This was our 6th visit to Coco Bay and it just gets better every time. What more can one say.
Everything was perfect. No where else will you get the views that Coco Bay offer. Staff are just fantastic and it is such a pleasure to return and everyone remembers us. If you want a place to chill out without being pretentious this is the place. We sleep better here than at home. All you hear is the crickets, sea and palms swaying.

well we couldn't say anymore than wonderful things about our stay at Coco Bay!! The staff and food was wonderful all the reviews about the food we totally disagree it was beyond great we stayed at the resort restaurant the whole nine days. Our wedding was beyond perfect thanks to Tameka she was wonderful!! Our time there was so relaxing we can't wait to go back already. It is a very low key resort but nice at night to hang out at the bar to talk and make wonderful friends!! You will go back relaxed and guaranteed to want to go back!!

I stayed here for the weekend with my wife.
I was immediately put off by our room. Called a cottage the wooden structure had seen better days. Peeling paint and a bathroom that must be still 70 s with black mould round the edges.
Put off straight away.
The staff are great no complaints there.
The bar is lovely as the pool areas but get a chair early!
The food was ok but a bit quirky at night.
Would I come back? No. Go to galley bay it's so much better.

Thank you for sharing feedback of your recent Cocobay visit. We are indeed receptive of your constructive criticisms as listening to and learning from every guest forms the basis for an improved future guest experience. We are however truly sorry that your experience did not meet with your expectations. This should not have happened. We will continue to commit to "total guest satisfaction" and will work even harder to ensure that every Cocobay experience is a positive one.

Please accept our apologies and we do hope that you would consider visiting again some time in the future.

no real cons to this place: from the views to the the rooms to excellent dining i can only recommend it!
unless you are going to Antigua to party you will love it
i stayed there for a week with my 16 year old daughter and we had the best time - didnt do much except move from the pool(s) to the beach but it was enough as the place is really magical

We have just come back from our second time at Cocobay and already looking to book for next Feb.
As everyone has mentioned the views are truly stunning from every where on the resort.
food is excellent quality and a varied menu, we never had the same menu twice.
I was bitten every day, although it looked like they feasted on me and left everyone else alone so if your like me take plenty of deet spray and buy benedrayl to help with the itching.
the resort being so small lends itself to meeting other guests easily and we met some wonderful friends on our stay.
We done a few excursions, one extreme adventure, which includes stingray city, a must if you go to Antigua.
Beware taxis are expensive, $80 round trip to English Harbour for example. English harbour is worth a visit to see how the other half live :)
Look out Cocobay, we a returning

I usually don’t write reviews, but reading some of the cons in the reviews below, I felt obligated.
My wife and I visited the resort for our 26th anniversary and are returning this May which will be our 4th time vacationing at Cocobay in 2 years. We travel the Caribbean Islands frequent, and rarely revisit any resort.
The first time we stayed here, we were convinced that the staff had mistaken us for members of the Royal Family, but soon realized they were treating all guests the same. The entire staff is incredible, they go the extra mile for you and not once were we greeted without a smile or a hand shake, and this is true for every time we’ve been there. O’Neil (Manager) and Tamika (Assistant Manager) are true professionals, far from inflexible and must have hand picked the entire staff, I can go on naming them all but won’t.
The 59 cottages are all detached and private; the 4 plantation houses are designed for families or 2 couples (sleeps 4) and the bedrooms are separated by wings. The cottages are cleaned daily and we never experienced dirty or old bed linen. The showers are open and water does get on the floor but if this bothers you, simply put a towel down. We’ve only stayed in the Sea Front Pool Cottages and the recently added Premium Waterfront Suites, both had excellent views of the ocean, can’t vouch for other cottages.
The food is great, for breakfast a Chef is preparing eggs to order, pancakes, bacon and there is an array of cereal, fruits, breads and yogurt. Lunch is buffet style with assortment of salads, pastas and fruits with a Chef grilling local fish, chicken or beef. If you prefer staying by the pool, sandwiches are severed for lunch and tea time is around 4pm by the bar where you can have snacks and tea. Dinner is a la carte that consist of soup, salad, main course (3 or 4 to choose from) and dessert. I am a somewhat picky eater and don’t eat red meat, I’ve never left a meal table hungry.
The grounds are well manicured, the beaches and pools are clean, and what an amazing view from the infinity pools, we have no desire to leave the resort. This place is quiet, relaxing, intimate and romantic, We highly recommend it.

To the Staff – Keep up the great job
See you in 2 weeks
Tony & Nancy

Room Tip: Pay the extra dollars and get the Premium Waterfront Cottage, it's well worth it.
