Our drive to the resort in our rental car was a little bit of an adventure but once at the resort we could not be happier. Clean, 2 bedroom room was spacious with a large balcony to enjoy. Staff could not be nicer. The best part is our room was it basically right on Jolly beach, The beach has scenic views of the bay. We also enjoyed the complementary non motor sports water activities, sailing, canoeing, paddle boats. Grocery store very close , great to pick up bottled water and any other groceries needed for an extended stay. Overall we would recommend Tranquility Bay to everyone.

From check in to check out the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We were not disappointed by any of the staff recommendations. This is not the fancy younger crowd party vacation resort but we are 2 couples in our early 50's and we loved it. There was a few maintenance issues on check in but they were corrected quickly. 2 Bedroom 2 bath Suite was perfect for 2 couples with the large balcony and patio furniture we never seemed crowded. Loved the golf cart, worth the money for the week but not necessary to get to the Beach, groceries, restaurants. They are all easily accessible and within walking distance. Lots of choices for eating out but our favorites were BBQ night at Crows Nest, Akropolis Greek Taverna and Steak night at Sugar Ridge, they were all excellent! All had great service and their own ambience. The grounds were very well maintained. Sunset Bldg was perfect location, close to beach but very quiet.
The furnishings could be a little more comfy in the living area but the unit was clean and casual. The air conditioning worked well and had additional units in both bedrooms.
If ever back on Antigua, we would stay here again.

Room Tip: sunset building was quiet and centrally located

Visited Tranquility August last for our honeymoon but just had to write a review. From the moment we checked in (very hassle free) to the moment we checked out Tranquility Bay Condos were a delight. I will very easily recommend this place to anyone. The best part of the trip was the hospitality. Staff is unbelievably hospitable and well trained. The location is excellent, probably the best part of the island. Jolly Harbour has everything you could desire to make your stay worth it. There are numerous restaurants all around. Al Porto’s Italian restaurant has a jetty leading from the restaurant right into the harbor; Very romantic. Sugar Club restaurant is close and they do a mean steak. Jolly Harbour Sports Club has a nice a la carte menu that tastes great and is quite affordable. Super friendly Melini’s is also a must. Great service. Jolly beach is wonderful and the pool fun. A modern supermarket is nearby. The property is not the newest but it is fairly well maintained. But if you are big on hospitality, you won’t notice any of it. Well worth the stay.

Just returned from a week at Tranquility Bay. Staff was wonderful, our 2 bedroom suite was just fine. Small kitchen which was a big help as we had most breakfasts and a couple of dinners in. Slight problem with A.C. was fixed within 30 minutes.
Some things we would recommend. Happy hour at Crows nest is a bargain and is 4 or 5 minute walk-great bartenders. Supermarket is 5 minute walk and is well stocked. Did Shirley Heights (second time) great views and music. Treasure Island circumnavigate is worth it. They did a great job. Remember it gets a bit rough on the Atlantic side. Sheer Rocks was a fantastic place. Food was very good but location and views could not be beat. If need a cab, Mary Williams is a great choice. A tip-- After arrival we got in a cab/van with 2 or 3 other couples. Each couple paid $24 for the trip to the Jolly beach area. When we returned to Airport we used Mary and total for the 4 was $24 so book your own cab. She took us to Shirley Heights, zip lining, and to sheer rocks along with airport. Will use her again. If anyone has questions, would be glad to respond, We will be going back to Tranquility.

Just returned from a week stay . Upgraded to Suite with large balcony. Awesome property. The staff really makes this property. The front desk is excellent. We had alot of fun with them. It rained one day 3 to 4 inches but so what ,your on vacation. We ate out alot for dinner. We were told where to get some fish from Barry the timeshare sales mngr. very helpful and we got 4 Large lobsters instead of fish.He knows the island very well also. our 2 top meals were at Akropolis had Lamb shank and the Greek meatloaf was awesome also and Mellinis(sp) had pork Schnitzle parissene (sp) and cream curry seafoof over linguine, unbelievable. The real only dissapointment was alporto for pizza. 2 of the four pizzas were burnt and the one I had had about no sauce on it and when I asked for a side of sauce it was very cold . oh well live and learn. But I would say all the other restaurants we ate at were good. We also ate at Petes for burgers, very good for price. We ate at Turners and the Curry chicken was excellent. Crows nest was good .All in all great trip a little more sun would have been nice. And thanks to Mzgeorge also Leigh

Room Tip: We stayed @ 3rd floor close to front desk. Close to beach and front desk. Rent the cart at least one...

We stayed at this resort during the last week of March and had a great time. The 2 BR/2 BA condo was more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 children. Be advised: the living room furniture was very uncomfortable; we had to use pillows from the bedroom to relax on the couch. There is a flat screen TV in the living room and regular TVs in each bedroom with plenty of channels to choose from. In the bedrooms, there were no dressers but plenty of storage space, including closet shelves and bins. The beds are a little hard, but comfortable enough.

The kitchen was well-stocked, the refrigerator was large, and we had all of the amenities we needed (utensils, pots, pans, bowls, glasses/mugs, etc.). The kitchen had a microwave, toaster oven, blender, and coffee maker (tip: bring your own condiments, tea, coffee, drink mix etc.). There is a stove with gas burners, but no oven. Dish detergent and dish cloths are supplied (tip: bring a counter sponge and scouring pad). The washer and dryer, which were new and quiet, are in a separate room along with a hamper, iron and ironing board (tip: bring your own single-load detergent and fabric softener sheets). Such a nice touch! The AC units worked well. No problems with hot water or water pressure, but we did have about 3 blackouts throughout that lasted just a few seconds each (tip: bring travel candle effective against mosquitoes). Internet in the room is frustratingly slow, but the wireless service in the lobby is fine (both are free). We had a few mosquitoes in the room that entered through bathroom windows (tip: don’t forget bug spray).

There is not much to this resort, but everything you need is close by. The beach is about a block away (depending on which unit you’re in). The water is simply spectacular and breathtaking. The waves are relatively calm and the sand is very fine, so it’s not the best for snorkeling. Jolly Beach Resort is just steps beyond that, and all amenities, with the exception of food and drink, are at your disposal (you’re given an armband upon arrival). Definitely take advantage of the complimentary paddle boats, kayaks and Hobiecats. Palapas are available but in short supply; umbrella rentals are $10/day. The beach vendors and private tour operators are around but not aggressive.

The grocery store and marina restaurants are about 2 blocks from the hotel entrance- very easy. The supermarket is very nice and typically well-stocked. Don’t be alarmed by the number of security personnel. Get there by early afternoon to get hot prepared foods like hamburgers, fried chicken, fries, salads, sandwiches, etc., all at reasonable prices. [Tip: pack your own condiments, tea bags, coffee, etc]. Prices for certain foods, like OJ, ice cream, are very high. The supermarket, like most businesses there, accepts US dollars, but change is given in the local currency (EC dollars). TB offers golf cart shuttle upon request to/from the supermarket. Golf carts can be rented and are a nice luxury but are not necessary. We didn’t have one and were just fine. If you’re considering renting one, it’s best to reserve ahead of time since the supplies are limited. We took the #20 bus from St. John back to the hotel, very cheap, easy and a fun experience (cost about $5 for 4 people- yes, they take US dollars, too).

Don’t miss the Manager’s meeting on Sunday morning (very informative) or the Cocktail Party on Monday night (free food, drinks and a lot of fun). The staff is very cordial and helpful. We felt right at home!

We spent a week at this property. The grounds and buildings are looking dated, but you can't beat the location. And how much time do you spend in your room? With the gorgeous weather and beach nearby, it wasn't much time at all. We stayed in a 2-bedroom. The balcony overlooked a road that was noisy in the a.m. and p.m. during "rush" hour. The 2 double beds were very comfortable; my sister reported that the king bed was hard. The kitchen was well equipped. We got a few take-out items from the well-stocked nearby grocery store (go early to buy the delicious jerk chicken). The restaurants in Jolly Harbor were mostly good, and you can walk to them. Ask at the front desk about local restaurant "specials" nights. In general prices are higher in Antigua than in the U.S.

Tranquility Bay guests use the amenities of the Jolly Harbor resort next door. We had fun playing tennis and the courts are lit. We used the health club machines. The pool was warm and clean. The beach is beautiful, and we had no problem finding shade, probably because it was the start of the "low" season. The boat guys are really helpful and will take you for a sail or teach you how to sail the catamaran yourself. My husband also did wind surfing and used the kayaks. The bay is indeed tranquil but there is always a good wind for sailing. The blue-green water is not clear right off the beach, but you can hire out to go snorkeling or to go horseback riding or to do a land tour. You can either make arrangements through the front desk or use some of the local vendors who approach you on the beach. Just check with the boat guys to make sure the vendor is legitimate. People do approach you on the beach to sell things, but they leave you alone when you say no.

Room Tip: Two of the buildings have balconies on the road; two are further from the road.
