We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cassia Cottage. It's a bit like a family holiday - every is very friendly, guests and staff and the manager, Amelie Tran, a young French-Vietnamese woman is a charming and gracious host(ess). The two pools are very clean and very warm, breakfast was good and the food we sampled was good also. We were in a great little cottage just metres from the pools and a short walk to the beach, which is clean and safe. The cottage was roomy for the 2 of us and the facilities worked well. The mosquito draped over the bed at night (by the staff, unobtrusively) gave the room a real tropical touch, although we didn't see or hear a mosquito!
The location is good, just a 15 minute walk along the beach or a $2 taxi ride to the main town centre.
Be aware, however, there is no TV at this resort and there are no phones in the rooms; who wants to watch TV on holidays, anyway?
We'd certainly stay here again if we revisit Phu Quoc, which is a fascinating place. Besure to visit the night market's open air seafood restaurants - incredible food at remarkably cheap prices. It's also definitely worth a trip to Tuoi Tham a little restaurant in Tran Hung Dao Street - the food is great and it's spotlessly clean - you could eat off the floor!

Room Tip: Rooms near the pools looked best.

After two months travelling we decided to change our return flight arrangements and head onto Phu Quoc Island for our final week. We trusted TA and went with Cassia Cottage and we weren't disappointed.

We booked a Ocean View room and while great management kindly moved us into a larger room when we had two families from the same group check into the rooms either side of us. Not a real problem but greatly appreciated.

Facilities offer plenty of old world charm and are very well appointed. Staff were fantastic. They exhibit a real pride in the hotel and maintain it to a very high standard. They are also very friendly and happy to give of themselves without any false professional veneer.

Food was sensational, particularly the clay pot tuna.

We could have done a heap of tours and activities but found the hotel so comfortable we just hung out at the pool for the week. A total unwind. A lot easier without TV or phones.

Thanks Dao, Amalie, Diem, Sao.

Room Tip: Get to know the staff. They will only add to your experience. Try and get either a Beach House or an Ocean View room.

Cassia Cottage was the best place we stayed in Vietnam. We stayed in some 5 star places that were flashier but these guys were the best by far. Friendly, generous, flexible, great food - the staff are lovely and it's a beautiful place surrounded by gardens. We had a great relax - ate in their restaurant every night - I just loved their chicken curry. Go stay guys you'll love it. Phu Quoc was a revelation also.

Not sure where to start with Cassia cottage as we could go on for pages and pages. Firstly, they got us out of a bit of a mess when another hotel mucked up our booking, one of the managers answering emails from home late at night. They managed to squeeze us in, and even had us arrive way before check in, offering coffee, breakfast and the pool for the kids.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and yes they are slightly on the high price for the island but very very rarely do you end up somewhere like this that makes you feel so at home. There are two pools, an adult and a fantastic kids pool. Much appreciate even by us, travelling with 4 kids.
The staff are something else. The management are around all the time with smiles, advice, stories, laughter and nothing is ever any trouble. They are approachable and so friendly that our kids want to move in for good. All the staff are amazing. Efficient, you never wait long for any request, they seem very happy where they work.
Breakfast was fantastic with pancakes and French toast made to order along with fruit, hot plate, cereals etc. The food in the resteraunt was brilliant , including a kids menu that went down well.
Miss Dao, Amelie and Sandra and alllll the staff really made our stay something to remember and we will Definately be back. We are missing them loads and it will be hard to beat them on the rest of our long trip.
Thanks everyone at Cassia. You were all outstanding.

We've stayed at Cassia Cottage twice (December 2009 and December 2011) and those were the two best family vacations we've ever had (we have a 4 year old and an 11 year old)! Mark and his staff are so great, they truly understand what families want in a vacation. Relaxation and rejuvenation.

Cassia Cottage is exactly what we look for in a vacation spot, the rooms were excellent, the service was the best, and the atmosphere is unrivaled! We will definitely be back!

Love, love, love Cassia Cottage!!!!!!

Room Tip: We loved the Beach House! Two big bedrooms and a common area, perfect!
