From collection at the airport, in their air conditioned bus to the last day, we felt like we were being pampered. The entire staffs sole wish is that you have a perfect stay. The grounds and spacious rooms are beautifully kept, The South African Chef created wonders. The Wine cellar was better than expected. The Hotel is an oasis in a fascinating land.
Come and enjoy . Diving can be arranged, Shallow dives, moderate interest, good for learning.

After travelling through Cambodia and Vietnam went to this lovely island to relax and laze in the sun. After leaving the airport and travelling on dirt roads you arrive at this small colonial style hotel with beautiful garden and spa. The staff are very friendly and attentive and everything exceptionally clean and excellent food. The western food rather expensive but Asian food within reason. Wine is rather pricey though. Would recommend the BBQ on the beach , various salads, seafood galore and every kind of meat. They spent hours setting it up and it was a dream just to look at.

We stayed in a bungalow which was spacious and had a lovely bathroom. Every evening on returning to the room after dinner there was aways a treat awaiting us, a dessert The private beach and pool area was clean with plenty comfortable sun loungers so people didn't go running down early in the morning to reserve beds, which I hate. The beach staff really look after you, arrange your bed and towel and twice a day bring cool towels and frozen joghurt which was great on a very hot day.

The island is still unspoiled but there are lots of plans for large hotels and an international airport so this is the time to go before the masses arrive. Many areas are protected and lots of the bays can only be reached by boat. Snorkelling trips are available and we did North and South Islands. The south was definately the best as the water was clear and saw some lovely corals unfortunately hardly any fish.

Would highly recommend this hotel and island to anybody who just want to relax after a strenuous touring trip

We stayed here with friends during the TET holiday and were absolutley blown away by the service and the rooms. We were treated like kings and queens from the minute we were picked up at the airport. Yes the rooms are a little pricey, but the service that you receive is second to none. When we arrived at the airport our luggage was collected for us and loaded into the vehicle, once we were in the vehicle we were presented with icy cold bottles of water and fresh cold face washes to refresh ourselves. When we arrived at the motel our checkin was completed promtly with us being seated in comfortable chairs and being presented with refreshments. As we had arrived early in the morining our rooms were not ready for us, so the staff offered to store our luggage in a secure room and when our rooms were ready they moved our luggage to them for us.
The rooms we stayed in were outstanding we had one room located on the beach front and another cheaper room further to the back of the resort both rooms were absolultey beautiful.
The swimming pool is very nice with drink service offered here as well, unfortunatley we didn't eat at the restaurant here (big mistake) we ate next door at a place called Eden ( incorrectly named it should have been called hell) are meals were inedible. Once back at our rooms, we ordered room service and were delivered some mouth watering meals.
The beach is spotlessly clean and the resort setting is very nice, a definite to put on you list, although a little expensive.

We found La Veranda a perfect place to unwind at the end of our visit to Cambodia and Vietnam.
The hotel is a quiet boutique property with villas set in colourful landscaped gardens with easy access to a pristine beach.
The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Breakfast offered an excellent choice of Asian and European dishes served on the airy veranda. The evening menu offered international European Asian fusion dishes but at a price which discouraged many guests from dining in the restaurant. Fortunately along the beach and down the track leading to the hotel many bars and restaurants served fresh local and western dishes at competitive prices.
Great hotel in a fantatic location but go now before the island becomes commercial.
