“Outstanding food!”
Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

Really, really great food. And we are NOT too often using superlatives. Lots of taste (sometimes been missing that in Vietnam), large portions, US$ 4-5 per dish. And ON the beach. Go for the fried shrimp spring rolls - they are just SO much more than they sounds to be. Also the lemongrass-chili-dishes are very tasty!

“Delicious”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

This is located just up from La Veranda (looking at the water, to the left). Large servings of delicious BBQ seafood- tiger/king prawns. Squid, red snapper. They also have a menu with a large variety to choose. Prices are reasonable too.

“Beef Hot Pot”
Reviewed February 5, 2013 via mobile

Delicious!!! And no better way to enjoy it than with your feet in the sand, watching the sun set.

They forgot to bring our bruschetta appetizer- otherwise excellent service :)

“Best food on phu quoc”
Reviewed February 2, 2013 via mobile

We stayed on phu quoc for 5 days and ate here 3 times. We ate here on our first night. After sampling the spring rolls we couldn't wait for the mains to arrive. Chicken curry was amazing (and massive) as was the been hot pot. Second time we just stopped by for pancakes, also excellent. Third time was new years eve, we invited another couple along with us. We had a red snapper, lobster and chicken curry between us and it was all brilliant. The staff here are very friendly as are the joint owners. Food is cheap for what you get (I'd pay a lot more for it). Atmosphere here is also good, nice and relaxed, right on the beach with just low level background music.

“Good food, great prices, friendly staff and lovely location”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

First of all it is important to note we saw two Mays on Phu Quoc - one on the right hand side of the road coming out of town as you head to Long Beach and a second acttually on the beach near La Veranda / Viet Thanh Resorts. The one on the beach is the one I am reviewing - from some of the reviews below I think there are reviews of both mixed up here.
We went here on our first night as we saw their fish BBQ advertised, it was good and -reasonably priced at 175,000 dong - about £5 / US$8. The people working here are lovely and friendly - English not perfect but certainly good enough to manage taking orders and serving food. My husband expressed an interest in how one meal he had was cooked and they allowed him into the kitchen to show him how to cook it and showed us what we needed to buy locally to make it at home.
We ate here several times during our week on Phu Quoc for both lunch and dinner and at all times found it good, reliable with a lovely beach front location.
Would certainly recommend trying this place if you are lucky enough to be on Phu Quoc
