“Beautiful resort and nice beach”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

we stayed for 2 nights in December, right before 24 Dec, so it was the peak season. The resort was beautiful and since there were a lot of guests, their breakfast offered a wide range of food. However, the dining staff could not cope with the number of guests. The breakfast area ran out of seats, and the staff didn't know what to do. They didn't bring more tables or offer the other dining areas for guests. Then they stopped bringing glasses and cups for coffee and tea or cutlery, left the guests to keep asking for stuff. This was quite annoying.

The beach of Eden was superb, nice long beach with not too many people. The water was really clean and clear. The pool area with trees offered a cool area for the guests who didn't like the bright sun. There was happy hour from 7-8pm with unltd cocktails. Staff was attentive but lacked experiences. The hotel also offers you a free ride to the Ngoc Hien Pearl Farm (10 mins away) if you want to visit and get some local pearls.

We got one of the room in the semi-detached villa. Beautiful room.

Overall, would come back, but I hope they have better staff next time.

We stayed here for 5 days in October. We had booked a double room but once checked in were taken to a room with twin beds. The staff quickly rectified this mistake and led us to our new room. The room itself was spacious however the shower only had cold water, the tv didn't work and the a/c was broken and made a horrific noise all night. After speaking to reception they informed us they would fix the problems straight away, however the conditions didn't really improve apart from luke warm water in the shower, it was only when we said we wanted to change rooms thy they actually attempted to fix the problems. The resort itself is beautiful, a nice big pool and private beach with amazing sunsets.

We were off season so may not apply to everyone. However...

- staff are so friendly and helpful, they couldn't do more even when I asked to swap iPods at the beach for my own music.

- free wine tasting, cocktail night every other night (and by taste we mean an entire glass).

- we were upgraded, room was fantastic and massive with a huge bed, bargain!

- it was really quiet (however, we were out of season, the day we left a MASSIVE conference arrived and there were lots of families)

- don't get a taxi, they provide really cheap mopeds. This is handy as the beach not directly outside the hotel is horrid and you'll want to drive to São Beach.

- when we were there there was a large but empty building site where they were extending. Make sure this is not going on before you book.

All in all, great base on the island, good value for a bit of luxury.

We stayed for 3 nights in November in the 2 bedroom beachfront luxury bungalow - there was nothing luxurious about it. There were a few positive points about this resort. To start with, it had great landscaping which was great for photos. The beachfront was also very broad so it never looked too crowded. From the beach and the beachfront bungalows, the sunset on a clear day was stunning (but you get that at any place on the western side of the island). The beds and the pillows in the room were reasonably comfortable for a good night's sleep. For these reasons, it was not "terrible".

However, the construction of the room was shoddy. The worst part was the leaking sinks. There were 2 sinks in the room, both of which leaked terribly. When we mentioned it to them, they seem aware of the issue and explained it was due to a design flaw and could not be fixed, not while we were there. It appeared to be a problem not only for us, but a number of bungalows. For a 4-star resort, we could not understand how they could allow guest to stay in a room with such a fundamental problem, not to mention this was supposed to be a "luxury bungalow".

Another big problem was the door to the veranda that could not be secured. It was so misaligned that a gentle tug at the rusted door handle from the outside could easily open the door even when locked. In the "2nd bedroom", there was only a shower curtain on a thin string as an excuse for a curtain. By the way, it was not really 2 bedrooms. The whole bungalow was rather big so they just cordoned off an area to make it a separate "bedroom". The list flaws goes on - gaps in the door, cracked mirror frame, missing trimmings on bathroom pillars, etc.

The food in the restaurant was mediocre and had very limited seafood on offer, which was what Phu Quoc is famous for. Other services in the hotel was also rather sparing - no map of the island for guest, no hotel map, pool was not too clean either.

With the choices available on the island, consider somewhere else.

Room Tip: Not the the "luxury" beachfront bungalows.

Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at Eden Resort and it was an unforgettable experience - dining on the beach specially prepared by the helpful staff. I couldn't ask for more how they made the night memorable by softening the sand to create a dining zone just for our table away from other diners. The food was equivalent to high end dining yet affordable. I highly recommended their beef salad and tuna tartar. As for the room, spacious and quiet. I would say we enjoyed the food more than the room though. We spent a lot of our stay by the pool, enjoying the sun, pool and beach. Tried their massage, wasn't impressed. I suggest to go for the beach masseur.

Having read Pardo's review (from Dublin) after returning home it is apparent that the reception manager is at it. We booked a Sea View Suite at this hotel prior to leaving the UK and printed off the paperwork. We booked 4 nights at the end of our 3 week holiday and wanted it to be a time to relax in some luxury before our return home. On arrival at reception we were told that as they had overbooked we were being upgraded. We were shown to a semi detached bungalow which contained only one room and had no sea view. It was definitely not an upgrade and we returned to reception to state that we wanted the room we had booked. They then showed us a small pokey room that they tried to pass as the room we had booked in an attempt for us to jump at the bungalow. We showed them the paperwork for the Sea View Suite and after waiting 20 mins eventually were shown to the room we had booked. This suite was superb and following this initial problem our stay was very enjoyable. We found all the other staff attentive and helpful. The gardens are beautiful and the restaurant overlooks the pool and beach. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty. As stated previously the hotel is well located, near to the airport and the hotel supplied us with a free taxi back to the airport which was a nice touch.

Room Tip: Take your paperwork to prove what you paid for and don't fall for the alleged upgrade unless it...

I don't know why I had a mixed feeling about this hotel, they are trying to build a high quality hotel but the management failed to do so! the hotel is fine and I dont want to be negative about it, but there is something missing, I liked the idea about the toilet outside but it could have been nicer if they just kept the shower and sink outside, as you feel no privacy at all if you want to use the toilet and I had to search for lizards every time I want to use the toilet to make sure nothing will pit me :)
big building is under construction behind the hotel which over looking the toilets!!!

The pool and the beach are the highlight of the resort, check in and check out were so robotic and nothing special about the reception and the restaurant.

Room Tip: try your best to get garden view or sea view suites, much better than the normal rooms
