If you like hot spring in a natural environment this is your place. The pools are made of natural rock, the water flow abundant and hot, maybe 35 or 36 C, the scenery kind of bucolic and is all free of charge, plenty of friendly locals very clean. Bring your own towel and sleepers, there are no facilities at all. Enjoy!

We visited the Cascate del Mulino thermal waterfall just shortly before the New Year.
It is quite easy to find it on the SP10 road, although the sign to the carpark reads "Cascate del Gorelle", pretty confusing for a foreign visitor. There is a carpark, a big one with 2.2 metre height limit, and a few spaces on the access lane, usually full, so if you come with a campervan, you might have to wait a while for a parking slot. We parked a bit cockily at the entry to the carpark, but the passing carabinieri patrol did not say anything. The actual waterfall is just down the carpark, just follow the smell of sulphur:)).
The natural pools are not very deep, we could find some shallow enough for our 2 yo boy to comfortably stand in. You can also climb up the waterfall and enjoy a great shoulder massage.
In the middle of winter, there are no facilities open at the waterfall. However, you can visit the Terme di Saturnia hotel (charging at least EUR 20 for parking and entry).
I suggest taking a pair of flip-flops or Croc shoes as the rock in the waterfall is pretty slippery. There is nothing to hang your gowns and towels on, just leave it on the ground and immerse in the hot water. In fact, this is what we like - a natural bath in the river, with no sales-pitch and overpriced refreshments.

We are driving 2000 kms one way to reach this nice region of Maremma and enjoy the thermal baths at Cascate del Gorello... If you have any chance to be there please visit Etruscan heritage and enjoy thermal baths like Rome emperors did 2000 years ago....

The big surprise our trip to Grosseto region; brilliant for kids and adults to still enjoy a unique and invigorating free day out! Thoroughly worth the trip out there, although parking can be tricky!

Hot thermal waterfall, pouring into pools filled with locals and a few tourists who are in-the-know. Some reviewers complaining about the smell of sulphur clearly don't understand the concept of a thermal spa! It's free, it's lively, it's the most unexpected and interesting thing we did on our trip. There is a big car park but no doubt if this is full, then the pools will be full of people too. We went mid-afternoon in October and it was GREAT!
