A place that locals have been going to for thousands of years- and completely free! This natural spring was one of the highlights of our trip. We drove 2 hours to get there, and well worth it. Somebody must have taken to heart previous reviews about cleanliness and the area was clean. We felt completely safe, and the waters were AMAZING!!!!! The scene is just beautiful as well.

It is quite tricky to find but once there it is quite an experience and get ready to be quite smelly until you hit the shower afterwards.

I do believe that the area around the waters needs a good clean up. We went on a Sunday afternoon. The bins were overflowing and dog mess and litter everywhere, a terrible shame for such a beautiful setting.

Worth a visit tho.

I loved every minute spent at Saturnia Hot Springs and I would definitely go again.

The waters of Saturnia are abundant, there are lots of places to soak the healthy mineral waters, despide how crowded the place might be. I like the simplicity of the pools setting, in terraces build over time from calcium and sulphur deposits. This is a 100% natural springs with water coming from the sources at 37.5C, with no human intervention. And it's FREE! There's a small parking nearby and a kiosk that sells snaks. Be prepared to change your bath suit in the car.

I found these spring waters kind of milky with a strong smell of rotten eggs. Don't get upset, confused or discouraged. Actually, the "rotten egg" smell of sulphur mineral is caused by the dioxide gas escaping into the air. These suphur waters have positive therapeutic effects on your skin, nail and hair, making them stronger and more beautiful.
Saturnia is off the beaten path, but well known since Etruscans and Romans times. They used to come here to ease rheumatism and bone pains.

If you have a medical condition, consult your doctor first and then visit Saturnia. I highly recommend Saturnia! Bathing here is fun and a free investment to your heath. Cent' anni!

Well worth a visit for the experience - get changed in the car park - WHAT? Better if you take a dressing gown or robe - that's what we should have done. !!! You must go for the experience of sitting in sulphur thermal pools. So relaxing even in the rain.
