“Gorgeous hotel june 2012”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2012

We stayed here for seven nights, very nice hotel, very quite, The room was very spacious and had all the facilities for an extremely comfortable stay. The service was highly personalised right from check in,staff very polite and professional!.The lift from reception to the room was very helpfull. The room was everyday clean The beds and linens are very comfortable. An incredible view of the bay.the most important is that the staff loves my litle dog.The greatest asset of this hotel is its location.
This hotel was absolutely perfect for our trip.I loved it so much i will be going back.
The place gives pretty good value for money.
A very special mention of Meropis at the reception for her help.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the seaside

Very good hotel! Very close to the beach, just few meters from the sea! The staff was exceptional helpful and the service excellent! We been there for 5 days during Easter holidays, and we intend to go again for summer!

We arrived mid May which was a bit early in the season so hotel not running at full speed but it didn't matter. The welcome was good, and the lift from reception to the rooms extraordinary and an experience in itself. Our large room was clean and comfortable, having a balcony with glorious views of the bay. There was a clean shower and a bath which we later learned during our Greek island hopping is actually quite rare. Our overall feeling was "this is a good place to be". There is easy access to the very lovely beach and the hotel is well placed to explore the rest of Syros. Breakfast was good although perhaps because it was early in the season, the choice limited. Fresh fruit and yoghurts could also be offered rather than having to ask for them. The manager and his staff were delightful. If we revisit Syros then this is where we will go. I still think Mr Manager sir, that the shape of Syros is the same as the shape of England!

Room Tip: Best room location for keeping the sun longer-P Block 2nd floor as far near the end towards the chap...

We did not stay at the hotel, but did have lunch at the Cavos Beach Greek Taverna and after at the poolside cafe.

Thursday 8th Sept 2011, we went Galissas for the day. noticed a raised taverna from the beach which would have great sea views. So we walked up there for refreshment drinks initially, the lady said couldn't speak English but we got by, she said they didn't have coffee and we needed to go to the poolside bar for that, 20 metres or so away.No problem, as we ordered the drinks that they had. After finishing the drinks and a enjoying our group chats, we were thinking of what to do for lunch. We looked round, it was afternoon and we were pretty much the only people there.

But we still decided to stay, carry on the rapport amongst ourselves and try the dishes on
the menu. 3 of us had moussaka, one had chicken souvlaki and I had sphaghetti bolognese. The moussaka turned up in within 1 minute and luke warm and we sent them back for heating. The bolognese came within 2 minutes of the order, and felt slightly hot.

About a couple of hours after the food, I felt queasy and dizzy, with a pelting headache. I had drunk soft drinks, no alcohol, and was well hydrated. The next thing I knew I was in the pool bar toilets discharging the bolognese. This took about a couple of hours and the staff looked on and closed the bar at 6pm as usual. A unwell person just didnt figure, I felt quite vulnerable at how I could get back to our hotel. The taxis were on strike my friend was told by reception, that's it, so back to the bus. I was lucky it didn't amount to worse, since we were at the end of our 2 weeks stay in Siros and were due to go to Mykonos for the last leg of our holiday, but cancelled this.

It is a great pity that food is not looked after and prepared properly, it spoils it for everyone.
The staff seemed disinterested. It could be such a great place. As an avid Grecophile and traveller on Greek islands, it's my first review on Tripadvisor but felt strongly that no one else should go this experience.

When I booked I was expecting a fairly basic but modern hotel, but on arrival was really amazed to see the quality of the public spaces, and such a spacious bedroom with a beautiful seaview. Breakfast was excellent too, with a huge choice of items catering for all tastes - some people piled their plates so high the food must have lasted them all day. The main building has a lovely terrace with comfortable sofas for evening drinks or morning coffee. The bedrooms are in blocks of rooms built into the cliff - accessible with a lift - or take the 78 steps as we did to work off the breakfast! Great rooms with air-con, TV, good hot showers, and lots of space - good modern decor. Just one downside - loud music until 2am on Sat&Sun nights kept us awake, even with the windows shut.

Room Tip: Don't miss out on the sea view - it's worth that little extra charge

We returned to Dolphin Bay this August for 5 days after a great vacation there last year:

The management staff are superb. Everyone has a smile. The breakfast buffet is superb. The rooms are luxurious, the price is amazing!! The pool is huge and superb. The taverna next to the pool overlooks the beach. The beach is right next to the hotel.

There are plenty of places to eat in Galissas. The main city of Syros, Ermoupoli, is Venetian in style and has all the shops you can dream of!! So, you can have the best of both worlds - go to the city to shop in the evening and have the isolation of rural Greece by day at the hotel. Wonderful mountains to explore. Beautiful seas, so many fantastic beaches.

The prices at the hotel vary, but for 72 euros per night in August for such a great room with the luxury of a "proper hotel", you cannot go wrong. Perfect in every way. Thank you so much.
