“Recommended stay in Tuscany”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Very lovely family-run bed & breakfast that is highly recommended for any couples or families spending time in Tuscany. Many sights are close and easily accessed with car. Fantastic service and food offered by the family; the breakfast is extraordinary and we also recommend dining there. The place is spacy and beautifully decorated which gives a romantic feeling. We would love to come back.

The only negative would be that without GPS it could be difficult to find the place at night. But it is not far from Siena. The family even lended their GPS to us for free so it was no problem.

Oh, Mamma ... Mamma Maria Theresa and her wonderful children ... Pierre, Eric and Marek welcomed us with such open arms and real love that we want to come back and see them again ... for they are the ultimate B & B experience. Just outside of Sienna, we stayed here for four lovely nights in October 2013 and experienced the magical level of travelling in Italy. Their warmth and love completely overwhelmed us. They seemed to know what we needed before we knew. Make a reservation for dinner with Mamma and you will be blown away. Homecooked everything - classic Italian aperitifs served with perfect bruschetta and then and then and then! We had to go to bed - with a huge smile on our faces. Forever grateful to them for an experience of a lifetime! We will go back!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the view of Sienna, and overlooking the country road where all the Italian lad...

My friend and I stayed at this in for three nights. There are no words to describe the magic of this place. This first night we arrived tired and Eric picked us up from the train station although we were early. When we arrived Pierre greeted us. The room was beautiful and large. The breakfasts were amazing everything homemade. The second night we had dinner there and it was great. A ton of delicious food. Our last day Pierre offered to take us to Siena since we didn't have a car. We were then invited to have dinner with his friends and mom that night. It was an experience I will never forget. We attempted to take a bus to the bus station by the inn but being American girls that are not well traveled we took the wrong bus. Sweet Pierre helped us find our way back and picked us up in siena with open arms. This was the most amazing family and beautiful inn. Leaving you feel like you are leaving family. Mama took us to the train station the next day and I was sad to
Leave. Stay here you won't regret it.

This B&B is absolutely beautiful, not too far outside of the city of Siena, the family is so warm and welcoming, and the sons speak very good English! The big bedroom is really big, and the two smaller ones are still a good size. The views of the Tuscan countryside are incredible. The mother makes so much food for breakfast - a wonderful start to the day. And dinner was so fantastic we decided to stay in for our second night. She was also very accommodating to food allergies. I highly recommend staying here.

This summer we stayed at Tenuta la Santissima for the first time. It will definitely not be the last time. Pierre, his mother and the rest of the family were gorgeous. Right from the start we felt like a part of their family. When we arrived in the evening we were welcomed with some antipasti and a glass of wine. We had a nice and big room, which was always clean and prepared with fresh, cold water when we arrived back in the evening. Whatever we needed Pierre and his family offered it. They made lunch packets und gave us some very good travel information. One day we wanted to go swimming, so Pierre showed us the way to a beautiful little river. To make sure that we would find it, he drove us there by himself. We also spend our anniversary there and Pierre recommended a wonderful Osteria in Sienna which made our special day perfect.
Although it was said before I have to write it again. The food we had was incredible. Everything was freshly cooked or baked. Every morning there was something different on our table and it was all delicious. If you ask for it you can have dinner too. We did it twice and it was amazing. It starts with some appetizers, then two main dishes, some excellent desert and coffee not to mention the wonderful chianti wine. We had a lot of perfect evenings sitting on the nice terrace which was close to our room and had a wonderful view on the landscape. The B&B is very peaceful and quite but Sienna is also very close (15 minutes by car) if you want to spend a night in town. We visited a lot of beautiful places like Sienna, Volterra, the Chianti area, Florence and so on. Tenuta la Santissima is a perfect place to stay if you want to visit Tuscany. We hope to come back soon.

Upon our arrival, we were offered a welcoming glass of prosecco and snacks to relax and get comfortable at our Tuscan farmhouse retreat. We opted for the family style dinner the first night and were so impressed with Marie-Therese's wonderful offerings that we stayed in each evening to enjoy her succelent offerings each night. Some of the most delicious food we had during our three week Italian trip included apertifs with snacks, appetizers, main course and desserts along with wonderful dinner wines and lemoncello. "Roll me out the door" full, just a great way to end our daily Tuscan wanderings. The farmhouse was a ten minute drive to Siena.
Pierre, Marie-Therese's oldest, was a great help (as he spoke very good English) in giving us directions and advice as to our choices of areas to visit. We visied San Gimiganano and took an excellant tour of the Chianti region starting in Greve and ended back at the farmhouse six hours later. Thankfully, another feast was in store and we did not need to go out searching for a restaurant.
We asked Marie-Therese where we could find a laundramat. Our hostess gladly offered to take care of this for us. When we told her how much we had, she said no problem, just bring it to her. That next evening when we returned from touring, we saw our clean clothes on the line drying in the Tuscan sun. The fresh air smell in our clean ironed clothes was amazing, something that really surprised us.
Overall, our three day stay at this B & B was beyond our expectations. We were treated royally and would gladly return in the future.

Room Tip: With only two rooms, we felt the extra money for the larger room (more like a suite) was definately...

We spent five nights at this very special bed and breakfast, just outside of Siena. It was definitely the most memorable part of our two week holiday in Italy. The accommodations are beautiful and spacious. The hosts are the warmest and loveliest people I have ever met! The breakfasts were just incredible! Marie is one of the most talented chefs I have encountered. Everything that came out of her kitchen was so delicious!! We also had two dinners there, which were better than anything in a restaurant! You feel so taken care of there!

The locale was perfect for us. We were close to Siena, as well as an easy drive around Tuscany. I was very sad to leave!

We highly recommend this inn to anyone wanting an authentic, lovely Tuscan holiday experience!

Room Tip: We thought the larger room was best!
