The Galley of Lorne is blessed with a great location. On arriving the hotel was warm and welcoming, with very friendly staff. Room was clean and well furnished. Plenty of drawers, wardrobes etc, but only one bedside cabinet. Nice outlook onto Loch Craignish. Good walks nearby. Nice area for a shortbreak.

Excellent stay all round. The most impressive aspect is the superb service. Andrew and Sarah are brilliant hosts. All the staff were fantastic. I cannot speak highly enough of them. Chris was so charming and attentive. He was so skilled at remembering every small detail. The food was amazing too. All in all, a lovely relaxing stay in a great location. This is a hidden treasure and most certainly worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: The Skye suite has excellent views of the loch.

The Galley of Lorne is beautifully situated in a quiet corner of Argyll. The village has a nice atmosphere with a busy boatyard and lovely old church which we visited. Also lovely walks all around with gorgeous scenery. We had an evening meal and breakfast. Food at the inn was superb and of very high quality. Nice dining room and public bar with log fires. The bedroom was well appointed and the en suite was spacious. Soundproofing between bedrooms in the newer part of the building was not great but can be typical of newer buildings. A lovely function room overlooks the water and would be great for a wedding. Staff and owners were very friendly and welcoming.

The Galley of Lorne Inn provided a warm welcome and a relaxing stay. After missing our ferry we arrived late at nearly 9pm and were delighted to find that although the kitchen should have closed at 8.30pm they had stayed open for us. Accommodation was of a very high standard and the food was terrific. Special mention to the chef, barman and waitress who were all excellent. Would definately return.

Galley of Lorne is a very relaxing place to stay. The rooms are so comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. Little extra's in room make all the difference, such as a docking system for ipod. We took our wee dog and he settled very quickly into the room. A real peaceful ambience surrounds the whole area and allows for a very relaxing place to stay.

The food in the resturant is outstanding. Evening meals are like food you would have in a 5 star hotel and breakfast is delish !!

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday where you can venture on lovely walks, then this is the place to stay!! Especially good for dog owners who don't like to leave there pooch at home. We will visit again and again !!!

I, with my family stay up in Oban for a week each year. Melfort to be precise. We have been coming for 20+ years. We used to eat in the Shower of Herring, and a few other favourites. Unfortunately last year (2012) one of my favourite places was shut for refurbishment. We happened to speak to a couple who told us about The Galley of Lorne.

All i can say is after eating twice in successive evenings in 2012 i had to come back in 2013. Once again the food was absolutley superb, the staff friendly and the prices about right for the quality of the food. We eat twice here again this year and have just returned.

I can thoroughly reccomend visiting the Galley of Lorne for an evening meal.

My husband and I stayed for one night at The Galley of Lorne Inn Feb 2013. On arrival we were greeted by Chris, he showed us to a cosy well presented room (Uist)
In the evening we sat in the bar where there was a roaring open fire. We enjoyed a first class cooked breakfast in the morning before we left.
We would definitely return here and recommend it to all ages. :-)

Room Tip: All rooms on ground level with stunning views of open fields and countryside!
