“Very pleasant stay!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

My husband and I stayed for one night at The Galley of Lorne Inn Feb 2013. On arrival we were greeted by Chris, he showed us to a cosy well presented room (Uist)
In the evening we sat in the bar where there was a roaring open fire. We enjoyed a first class cooked breakfast in the morning before we left.
We would definitely return here and recommend it to all ages. :-)

Room Tip: All rooms on ground level with stunning views of open fields and countryside!

A lovely little family run hotel in a beautiful part of Scotland. Stayed in the Skye room which is well furnished and has a fantastic view. A very tasty dinner in the bar was good value for money with a very attentive bar man. Andrew (the owner) came over and introduced himself and ensured everything was to our liking which was nice. Only little thing that was wrong for us was the size of a bed. We have a king sized bed at home, so found the queen size a little small for us.
Aside from that the highlight of our tour around the west coast and will definitely be back.

My girlie chum & I stayed here, whilst looking for a weekend away to recharge our batteries. The room was first class (although had to share a double bed!) as we booked the premium suite (Skye). Food was first class and drinks reasonable too. The views across the Loch were amazing, especially in the light of the thunder & lightening storm we saw! The function suite was absolutely gorgeous too, if only I was looking to get married again.... I'd pick there. Only downside was the restaurant and pub were a bit on the cold side when the woodburners were dying down, but not enough to mark the place down a notch - anyway a jumper did the trick. Definitely pay it a visit.

Room Tip: Picking the Skye suite was worth the extra cost.

Stayed here on 24th/25th January on the 5pm deal and it was perfect! We were welcomed by Sarah (one of the owners), who showed us to our room (Skye Suite) which was absolutely gorgeous with a fab view. We ate in the hotel both nights of our stay and the food was fantastic - loads to chose from, and not too pricey. Andrew (other owner) came and introduced himself during our meal on the first night, which was nice. He checked we were happy with everything, which we were. He did the same again the next night, which we thought was a really nice touch. Chris at the bar was very friendly and offered good tips about places to visit. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely be returning in the future.

Room Tip: The Skye Suite cost slightly more to stay in - but it was well worth it (it wasn't much more) an...

I stayed here on the 23rd,24th jan and have to say it's one of the nicest little places i've stayed. The rooms were very very good and the food was excellent. The owners Andrew &Sarah could not of been nicer and were very attentive as were the staff.
I started off in the bar after i had got settled and decided to stay there and have dinner as there was an open log fire which was very inviting as it was a cold night outside. When the food was ordered it came to the table quickly and went down even quicker. It was that good i could'nt wait till the next evening to have more of the same
After i had eaten andrew came across to introduce himself and have a chat to welcome me which was a nice touch ( if only more owners done that ) after which i had a couple of drinks before retirering to my room for a good night sleep
I would highly recommend this little gem to one and all in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger "i'll be back".

Only seven letters for such a big word. Yet it says everything. If you need to know how good this hotel is and are thinking of booking a room then that should be everything you need to know.

Yet you are still reading this. So perhaps I should elaborate. I have stayed in five star hotels in Scotland from Gleneagles to The Old Course at St Andrews, to drop just a few names, but have not received as much personal attention, quality of service or as good food as I did when we stayed at this hotel.

Your still reading. I can give you more.

We were welcomed by Chris who shook our hands and carried our bag to our room. Took us inside and explained how everything worked, what we could do in the area, when and where everything happened and he didn't leave until he was sure we had no more questions and we were happy.

The public bar area had a great log fire and an atmosphere to match so we chose to eat there rather than in the quieter dining area which had been set up for us. No problem for our waitress Emer, everything arrived at the alternative table with a smile.

I can't say enough about how good the meal was other than you have to experience it yourself. My words just can't do it justice. Not cheap, but still great value for money. We also had the opportunity to tell the chef that (Colin) when he came over for a chat after we had finished. The quality of the breakfast was just as high and wouldn't be out of place at Andrew Fairlie's Michelin Star restaurant. I promise you.

We also met the owner, Andrew who personally came over to check that everything was ok after our meal. This level of attention to detail from all the staff continued throughout our stay. It was like we had made some new friends.

The rooms are not large but the en-suite was. It had a large walk-in shower , big fluffy white towels, and plenty of them. The beds were warm and comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Satellite TV, free wi-fi with a great bandwidth and a view to die for. All tastefully decorated to a very high standard.

You're still reading!

What more can I say? If you haven't booked it yet and you know somewhere better then I want to hear about it. Oh, the area. Yea great. Lots to see and do for a "get away from it all" weekend. Get it? Big mountains, lochs and islands and nice walks. No shopping malls, busy roads, cinemas or other stuff you will find in any city. So if your worried about having no entertainment go and book a nice city break and leave this little gems to the rest of us.

Brilliant!

I could carry on but I'm not going to write anything else.

You get the message.

So stop reading this.

Room Tip: You can upgrade to a superior room but the the room we had was great. Ask for a Loch view and open t...

Wanted somewhere special to stay on my birthday, and the Galley of Lorne proved an excellent choice. Warm welcome at reception, where we were shown to our room by a young member of staff. The room was rather small, but well appointed, very comfortable and warm. We met Andrew, the owner of the Inn, at dinner, where he introduced himself to all the dinners. Andrew's young team were very efficient and made our visit most enjoyable. Great location on the shores of Loch Crainish. Definately worth a visit, especially as we got the room at the ridiculously cheap price of £35 through the Itison website.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the larger rooms with a bath.
