This place was a true find!! We needed a short break away to chill, enjoy the scenery and good food. This really exceeded all our expectations. The location is gorgeous and the staff so friendly and helpful.

We booked into the Skye room as we had read the previous comments on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. A lovely bright spacious room with a view acrosss the loch. And of course the bathroom - stunning. A lovely big corner bath - perfect to relax in with a large glass of wine.

Saving the best for last - the food. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the Chocolate Fondant so much I had it both nights.

We can recommend the Galley of Lorne Inn and have to say it is one of the lovliest places we have stayed. We really will return especially in Summer so we can sit out on the deck of an evening and enjoy the sunset over the loch.

We walked for 3 - 4 milles towards the coastline and the view changes around every corner.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful in the bar restaurant and reception

Room Tip: The Skye Romm is perfect but judging by the overall standard any room should be perfect.

Just got back from 3 nights here, on a 5pm deal, and can't recommend enough. From the start, to the end, we were made to feel really welcome - including our four legged member of the family. We stayed in the Arran room, which had the most beautiful view over the loch. The room was of a very high standard, tastefully decorated, and had lots of little touches, to make your stay better, including electric blankets on the bed, and extra heating for the cold nights. We ate in the public bar on two nights - and although the menu looks pricey - as they say - you get what you pay for - and we did - to a very high standard. Excellent chefs. The staff were extremely helpful, guiding us to spots to visit within the area. The owner Andrew made a point of speaking with us - happy to spend time chatting. The hotel is a mix of old and new - and the dining area would be great for a wedding. Will be back some time soon, we hope, and even although it is a bit off the beaten track...well worth the journey. Thank you....for making our break away all worthwhile.

Can't recommend this wee place highly enough. Spotlessly clean, incredible food and helpful, courteous and informative staff. We stayed in the "Arran" room (which I would recommend as I believe this is the one with the best view from its window). The ensuite is spacious, has a generous double-sized shower, and the bedroom is equipped with an LCD tv and ipod dock. The food at this establishment IS pricey, but for the most part, justified. I would heartily recommend the lamb shank we both had for our main course. I had scallops for my starter which was my only disappointment - at not far short of a tenner, it consisted of TWO lukewarm scallops and two tiny cubes of pork - bit of a rip off. However, all was forgiven at breakfast. You MUST try "the Highlander" full cooked brekkie they offer......I can quite honestly say it is the BEST I have ever had - and I have had a few! The hotel also has a spectacular formal dining room with panoramic views of the loch, which I imagine would make a terrific venue for a wedding reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Chris and the crew were fantastic, great company at the bar and restuarant, knowledgeable of the area and very accomodating when we needed breakfast early for a ferry crossing - we'd expected just tea and toast but they offered the full cooked breakfast!! Good commitment guys. Beers were excellent, Views and area amazing, great community spirit and friendly locals. Food - huge portions and well cooked.

Couple of gripes - they could do with king size quilts for the beds instead of doubles as we found ourselves fighting over the duvet. Also the entrance for residents does smell 'funny' overpowering cleaning fluids? or the toilets off it? It wasn't the best first impression. However the rooms were great.

I agree with George C. The accommodation is very clean and very comfortable and helpfully away from the bar area which is very popular and open late so there is no noise from the bar. The menu is smallish but a good choice and all cooked to perfection.

The Inn is in a perfect setting with views out over the loch. A bit off the beaten track but well worth the trip.

Oban and Fort William both within easy striking distance makes it an excellent place to stay.

The Galley of Lorne Inn has the best of two worlds, an old world bar and frontage combined with modern restaurant and accommodation. The food is fantastic. We had wonderful breakfasts and evening meals. The range of beers, including real ales, and whiskys is magnificent. The location in Ardfern on the banks of Loch Craignish make the setting ideal. If you get the cahnce sit out in the beer garden or decking and admire the West of Scotland light over the loch. We look forward to being back again. Well done Andrew, Sarah and staff. Hope you had a good holiday.

We stayed at The Galley of Lorne Inn for two nights while on a return visit to the area, we'd had a look at menus etc on first visit. We were not disappointed. The food - choice, taste and presentation were all excellent, the selection of local produce was fantastic. The whole interior of the Inn was clean and well kept, with a lovely warm modern twist on the Scottish feel but not in the over the top way as some hotel do. Our room was big with a large dressing area and bathroom( biggest corner bath I've seen) the window in the bedroom looked right down Loch Craignish. The view was stunning both first thing in the morning and in the evening. What I liked best were the staff, who were in all case's polite, helpful and knew what they were talking about with the food and wine, so hats of to them. Only down side was the bed was a bit on the firm side. Definetly recommend you visit.

Room Tip: All rooms will be to the same standard but we were in the superior double room so for views and bath...
