“Truly a Five Star B & B”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

We stayed here for one night a year ago and loved it so decided to stay for two nights this time. It is difficult to add something different to the praise already given to Lynn and Cameron by previous reviewers. From the minute you drive in to the car park you are welcomed. Lynn and Cameron pay the greatest attention to detail both in the spotlessly clean rooms and in the fabulous breakfast. A full breakfast of locally sourced sausage, bacon, eggs (from their own hens!!) etc is available but there is always a different daily special which is well worth having. All beautifully presented. An added touch is one of Lynn's delicious muffins to take away to enjoy later in the day. Lynn also makes delicious cupcakes which are avilable with a refreshing cup of tea in the afternoon in the lounge or to enjoy in their beautiful garden while enjoying the sound of the burn and the surrounding scenery. I wouldn't go anywhere else when visiting this interesting and beautiful part of the country.

Cameron and Llynn are the perfect hosts nothing is to much trouble, breakfasts are wonderfull all with varied local produce with a great choice available. try the locally smoked herrings. The property is spotlessly clean the bedrooms spacious with bathrooms one would like in ones own home. We intend to visit again.

Room Tip: Book a room with views to the front and admire thw Scottish seanery

We spent a few days at this lovely guest house , and would describe it as a great find!
Our room(Lilac room) was very comfortable, great walk in shower , AND bath , and the two chairs with the footstools stowed away under them , were just the thing to rest our weary legs on after a day exploring this beautiful area of Argyll. Cameron and Lynn made us very welcome, and gave us great tips on where to go and what to see; we actually saw one of the beavers swimming across the loch one evening, and were also lucky to see the female Pine Martin coming for some of Lynn's home baking; (which is delicious, by the way!) Great breakfasts to set you up for the day , and good eating places within easy reach for evening meals .
The wonderful scenery , the peace and quiet of this very special area, and finding Dunchraigaig House, just made our short visit here a lovely break from our normal routine; and one that we hope to repeat before too long . We highly recommend a visit.

We have stayed at Dunchraigaig House several times now and keep coming back to use it as our base to explore this wonderful area. The 'Lavender Room' provides a room with more privacy as it is accessed by its own stairs from the side of the house.
We spent evenings with our door open listening to the buzzards and watching hares chasing each other around the fields. The view of the Ballymeanoch stones and distant hills is beautiful in any weather, perfect for the wildlife lover, artist or photographer.
The breakfasts are fantastic and Lynn's menus just go to show that vegetarians can be catered for with imagination. Each room has access to a kettle and a selection of Fairtrade and herbal teas, coffee and hot chocolate and a useful selection of toiletries and even a sewing kit.
Cameron and Lynn are always so welcoming and will go the extra mile to point out local events, wildlife sitings and weather advice. Extra treats can include Lynn's gorgeous cupcakes and daily fresh muffins and Cameron's homemade jams.
We love this area of Scotland - it has so much to see but at the same time can be discovered slowly. A perfect antidote to the stresses of daily life and Dunchraigaig House is the perfect place to stay.

The "Lilac Room" provided the comfort we sought, and the hosts were very welcoming.

Patience was rewarded with sightings of the Pine Martins, Kilmartin Glen has accessible sites ranging in date the from neolithic to "dark age", the Crinan Canal was fascinating, and the beavers a few miles away were worth the detour.

Plenty of evening meal opportunities within a short drive.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Choose between the Pine Martins and the view!

The attention to detail and personal comfort is quite exceptional. The house is in a beautiful situation with fantastic views. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choices, home baking and locally sourced food wherever possible. Room was slightly small but so attractive and clean. Lots of information of local events, places to visit, restaurants etc is available. There is a guest lounge - even a rocking chair in a small room with a telescope so you can relax and watch for the pine martens that visit the garden. The owners are so helpful, without being fussy. A lovely place to stay

Absolutely outstanding. Cameron and Lynn make everyone welcome - we've stayed several times and try to go back as often as possible. Food is amazing and falling asleep listening to the wind in the trees, the stream and the occasional owl is such a treat.
