We have stayed here a couple of times before and have had the same room (5) before. The room is on the first floor and is large and airy and the bathroom is unusually large.
We prefer to eat in the bar although the menu is the same in the restaurant or lounge. The food is good with a good range of local produce. I had a starter of scallops with black pudding and pea puree and it was superb. My wife's smoked salmon was good and her main course of langoustines was delicious. Being Friday I had haddock and chips which were good. My profiteroles were a little dry.
What prevents a five star rating were the details in the room that need attention, such as light bulbs needing replacement, wonky toilet seat and mould in the tile grouting.More
