Known as a sky resort, the Spitzingsee is also a place that truly deserves to be seen in spring. Description on the website of the hotel is definitely genuine! Take a room with lake view, but don' miss the walk around the lake and the wellness center.

... thanks a lot for your positive hotel evaluation - this is very kind. And yes, Spitzingsee is great at any season - except, when it rains for days. In hope seeing you returning one day - best regards, Sincerely Yours, Peter_K./ GM & his team

Stayed there for a weekend , during a business meeting. I have asked and a room facing the lake with an amazing view . The hotel is not the newest or the best equipped , but the wonderful view and location compensate for any minor disadvantages you find in the room . There are many shorter and longer hiking routes around the lake which you can go around for hours and enjoy the nature and hear the silence .
The hotel has a very nice SPA , which I did not had time to use , but saw many others really enjoying it . It is a perfect location for a romantic weekend .

Room Tip: Make sure you get a lake facing room ... the view from the balcony worth it all

We stayed here early spring - the lake was still frozen. The hotel is located right at the lake and at the beginning of the tiny downtown area. Everything is very serene. There are many hiking trails starting right at the lake, ski lifts, and boating, depending on the season. We stayed in a very roomy family suite that was furnished comfortably, but not particularly nicely designed. Same can be said about the overall hotel ambiance, except the wellness area, which is very modern and quite beautiful. The breakfast meets German standards of a well-assembled buffet (Sekt, Salmon, Weiss Wurst etc). Dinner was tasty but not spectacular - appetizers and desserts are offered on a buffet. Service was adequate but not outstanding. We would return, just for the location and because prices were acceptable for the overall quality.

I stayed over in this hotel from 15.04.14 to 20.04.14 and I must say that what a lovely location it is...you are literally in the base of the Great Alps Mountain...I was lucky to get snow fall and saw a frozen lake.... Awesome..
Room and it's decoration is too good...Restaurant, swimming pool, Gym and jogging trek are nicely maintained. Even I enjoyed thermo water swimming pool in -2 deg cet temperature..Though there are very limited choice for Vegetarian foodie...but you can not be get starve ted by replacing nuts, fruits, ice creams and breads....

Wi-fi is not free. You have to pay either 2 Euro for two hrs or 9 euro for 24 hrs. but in the lobby desktop internet available free of cost...not to worry...

This hotel is alamost 80 kms away from the Munich city and well connected by train and from nearest station to this hotel taxi services are good. But you need to spend good amount of euros for train ticket that to depends on your requirement and stay. for example (1) single trip one way cost you 12 Euro per head. (2) group of five ticket for entire day for entire public transport system you need to pay only 25 EURo...(3) Weekly ticket for unlimited travel for 7 days for entire public transport system (rail,bus,tram..) cost you only 30 EURO...

I enjoyed my stay and yes it's a small paradise in the corner.....

I stayed here over the wknd with my sister and girlfriend and I must say I was overwelmed with the hotel, its location and service. First of all the location is absolutely perfect and only 45 min drive from munich and it gives you a feeling you have stepped into another world.

Perfectly located at a beautiful lake and in walking distance from the ski piste. I went skiing and as well the ski-pistes are good maintained, not to big but perfectly for a day or 2 relaxing skiing. (Advantage: no queues for the lifts!).

We stayed in 2 fantastic rooms next to each other overlooking the lake. The rooms have a big balcony with seating and we enjoyed the beautiful views with a good glass of wine. (In the afternoon sun!) The rooms are very specious and the bathroom completely renovated. Wifi in the rooms works perfect to just a small charge)

The Spa is perfect and is overlooking directly over the lake. Big pool and great spa area. Kids friendly, and we went a little later to avoid the kids and that worked perfectly. 3 different heated sauna's, a relax area and a jacuzzi is absolutely perfect after a day of skiing or hiking.

We had a dinner in the Restaurant Olive and the service was great. Good help to choose from the many good choices on the menu and the quality was very fresh and good. A recommendation worth!

I travel a lot and have seen many breakfast buffets, and I can see this one is absolutely perfect. A big variety and all fresh. After a breakfast like this you will survive a whole day!

At check out I wanted to buy a postcard + stamp but that they kindly offered me for free... This one I send to my parents with the invitation to join me for a next visit this coming Spring!

One of our favorite places to visit - this hotel is beautifully located on a lake, nestled in the mountains in Bavaria. A popular ski resort, this location is great year round for all the activities offered here. The spa is wonderful, Food at the restaurant is superb. Service is great. A pleasure to visit. I wish it was still part of Starwood group.

Great hotel and even greater location right next to lake and along the lake runs a quite road. If you are here to relax best place to be. Nothing much to do which cities offer and that is a blessing as you enjoy nature its peace and beauty. Take a walk or jog in Bavarian country side, enjoy winter sports if you are one of that type. On the way there is another lake and on the boat ride you can go to a beautiful restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
