My girlfriend and i have lived in Cyprus for 7 years and took 8 of our friends from the uk up to the Rodon for a weekend stay. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the rooms, being spacious and fairly well appointed. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there.

Firstly, when we decided to have lunch in the hotel we were served by a collection of the most miserable staff we have ever met anywhere. They were slow, unfriendly, rude and managed to get most of our food order wrong. The food that did arrive was awful and fantastically overpriced - noone was happy.

We decided to eat out at a new taverna which has just opened around the corner and there we received fantastic service, fantastic food and were tyreated to a smiling waiter. Thumbs up for this taverna.

After the meal we returned to the hotel for a few drinks at the bar, again the same unfriendly, uninterested service continued with the waiter who appeared to be in charge even shouting at one of our group for bothering him when we tried to order some drinks. We had enough and decided to call it a night.

This was where the final straw came. The hotel had a group of about 40 Cypriot teenagers staying on a school trip. Between midnight and 4am they ran riot throughout the hotel. They ran throughout the corridors shouting, slamming doors, were in the carpark singing and shouting, throwing glasses off balconies. Although each of our group phoned the night porter several times nothing was done. Noone got any sleep and everyone was let down.

We all decided to leave and not stay for the second night booked. We met the manager and all refused to pay for our rooms. He tried to offer us vouchers for a free weekend in the future, but there is no way any of us would stay there again.

It's the second time we visit Rodon. The previous one was for our first wedding anniversary on 2004. We were then upgraded by the hotel to the presidential suite and it was very nice, however we thought it was in desperate need of refurbishment! The quality of food was also average.

This time we visited Rodon Mount Resort two days before new years eve, just for 2 nights. I 'd read in the hotel's website that it has gone under refurbishment and really, believe me, this was obvious! The lobby is very nice and the fireplace made it even better!

I booked the honeymoon suite through hotel's website and email. The suit was perfect and did not cost much, only 28 euros more than standard rooms. It's the only room that has even a jacuzzi and perfect views of the Agros village!

Being there I took a look and to other rooms. Executive suits are very nice too. However, BEWARE! Ηalf of the standard rooms have not been refurbished yet. Ask for a refurbised room. Some standard rooms are also rather small. The hotel is a 3+ star.

We found the breakfast and buffet-dinner very good, much better than in 2004!

The gym still needs some care. Sauna is not for free, it costs about 6 euros.

We were lucky to wake up the second morning and see that during the night it had snowed! It was very beautiful! In Cyprus it doesn't snow often and we were very glad!

It was so nice that we didn't want to check-out and leave, so we asked the reception if it was possible to stay one more night! Unfortunately the hotel would be fully booked, as it was new years eve! Cypriots love the place!

I think Rodon is the best mount hotel in Cyprus, nice for every season. I hope we will visit Agros and Rodon again in spring or summer!

I was given a free voucher for one night at Rodon hotel which is situated at Agros village in the Pitsylia area in the mountains. It is situated at the exit of the village coming from Nicosia. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cozy, beautiful hotel and will definitely come back again and stay for the whole weekend. The rooms are moderately decorated but with beautiful mountain views. The interior of the hotel at the lobby and the bar is nice as well as its gardens. Good breakfast. There are not many nice hotels in the mountains so this is a good choice.

We stayed at the Rodon Hotel for 2 nights- The Hotel has just been refit (some small works still ongoing). The Hotel staff were very helpful, although their English was rusty. The Hotel appears to be a Cypriot secret as there were very few foreign tourist here; and little wonder why they would want to keep it to themselves. We had a junior suite with dinning area, small area with settee, lounge chair and table, large bedroom with king sized bed and large bathroom with corner bath complete with whirlpool, separate shower and double vanity basins. The room had two aircon units, two TV’s – This all at half board for two adults £61 CY per night. Also we were given a welcome bottle of local wine and fruit. The only fly in the ointment was the food was very average, but the rooms and friendly staff certainly makes this excellent value. We shall return to this hotel.
