“Nice and relaxing”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

A great location with a very modern feel. Our room for 2 adults, a child and infant was spacious and very clean. There was plenty of choice and breakfast and the views were great. Unfortunately we stayed over a weekend and there were weddings both days meaning the family pool was closed at 1pm which was inconvenient but did not impact too negatively on our overall experience. All the staff were polite and helpful.

Room Tip: Try to avoid being on the first floor.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my family, there were nine of us. We had three rooms- two family rooms and a double room. The two family rooms were very spacious and they were equipped with two TVs that were a reasonable size and a mini bar, which was perfect for keeping water cold in the hot weather. The bathroom had a bath with a shower unit, which was very clean. The best thing about the rooms was the view of the mountains from the balcony. All rooms were excellent.
We ordered room service but we couldn't find the menu so I had to go downstairs to order it. When it came it was very nice but the only disappointing thing was nobody came back up to take it away once we had finished it (it was still there when we had left the room to check out.)
There were quite a lot of things to do at the hotel. The hotel has two pools, the top pool which is more for doing lengths in and the bottom pool which usually had lots of people in it is more a kids pool as it has lots of shallow space. When we went to use the top pool you sometimes couldn't use it as the hotel organizes different summer camps for children. The hotel has a tennis court, which we played on both days. The first day we played we were very disappointed as the net was ripped and kept falling down, we complained about this and the next day they fixed it which was very pleasing. The hotel also has a football pitch and a basketball court. You couldn't use the basketball court when we went due to the summer camps. It also has a gym which lots of weight lifting equipment, two treadmills and one bike. We didn't use the hotels spa but it looked nice.
We didn't use the hotels catering service for our evening dining, as it was cheaper to go to one of the taverns in the village of Agros. We did use the hotels restaurant for breakfast. The food quality was very good and there was a large variety to choose from.
The only negative this about the hotel was it was packed with children. Some of the children where quite rude but i suppose the hotel can't help that.
Overall I thought the hotel was excellent. It was very cheap, there were lots of things to do, the rooms were excellent and the scenery was picturesque!

Room Tip: The first floor is where the children that are at the hotel for summer camps stay so ask to be accom...

The hotel is in an excellent place with forest around which is a very good place for summer holiday to get rid of humidity of Nicosia. This time, after several trips to Agros we decided to go there in July. The hotel was full of children for summer schools with too much noise from 7am till midnight in the corridors and room. At night they were kidding by knocking the doors of the rooms just for laughing. Nobody controlled them and it was really bothering people specially in the afternoon and at night. If you wanted to use the swimming pool, you had to pay around 6euros.When the hotel organizes the marriage ceremonies, you have to be sure that you can not find parking at all till 1am.Breakfast is the same everyday. Most of the waiters are not friendly. The balcony's restaurant doesn't serve a good food at all.So you have to pay much money for a good buffet in the ground floor restaurant or go to village for a very good food and serving .I think this time all of my lovely memories about staying in Rodon Hotel disappeared unfortunately. Now I just write some comments here :
1- The children can stay just in 1 floor .
2- The organizers of summer schools and management of hotel have to inform the children to respect the others not to make noise inside and around hotel.
3- The hotel should make a decision to make a more space for parking.
At the end,we would like to know what the management of the hotel really wants? Schools or real customers or both? If both, they should take a proper action specially in this time of Economic Crisis.

Room Tip: Rooms with village view are really wonderful.

We've been there now for the first time for the Rose festival which takes place in Agros.
I haven't heard of this hotel before and I must say it was a surprise beyond expectation!!!
For the price we paid and the 3-star rating, I didn't expect much, just a place to stay...
Wrong!!! This place has everything and for sure we'll visit again and again, even for long holiday!
Hotel is quite big and although it was full for the weekend, the service was excellent and very warm.
The first surprise we had was when entered our room... hotel must be recently renovated and all furniture look new-and they're really beautiful and comfortable. We had a king-size bed with great pillows and a very nice sofa. Also the baby cot which we asked for was among the best we've met in hotel.
Other things which will make you feel nice is that the room is big with plasma tv and there is free wi-fi everywhere... things which you hardly find even in a 5-star ;)
Another strong point is the food, both breakfast (included in room price) and dinner which we tried. I strongly recommend to book at least H/B, the price is amazingly low and what you get is food at quality and variety much more than what you can handle (buffet)!!
And the real beauty of the hotel is outside; it is located in a dream mountain area where you can relax so much and forget the city from where you come from... This makes it ideal for winter of course but in summertime you will enjoy it also, even if you are a swimming type like me :)
Hotel has a big outside pool, a smaller inside with a fully-equiped gym and a beautiful family pool where your kids can spend an enjoyable day! Also there is basketball and tennis court.
To condlude, I think anyone should worth to try it, even as a low-budget break or holiday.
I'm sure you'll love the hotel and the beautiful village with the very friendly people, roses everywhere smelling so nice and the famous meat products!!!

Room Tip: If you care for double room (not twin) is better to ask in advance as it is subject to availability.

Excellent location for mountain holidays!
The place is perfect. You can relax there all year round. The village there it's perfect for short or long walks.
During winter too many bicycling teams (most of the Russians) prefer the Resord for their training.
Unfortinetly if you are on a diet you can't go there. The food there is GREAT!!!! Everyday a different buffet menu is there for you!
Even if you don't want to eat everyday at the hotel the near by taverns serve Cyprus meze (traditional variaty food) most of them cook at the charcoal.

Nestled high in the Troodos mountains and somewhat off the beaten track is the Rodon Hotel and Resort. The place is always busy with locals and tourists all year round. The region offers a cool break from summer's high temperatures. Yet in the winter it is only a 15 minute drive from mount olympus where one can enjoy the snow and spectacular views of the island. The style of the hotel is warm and inviting though the staff can afford to smile a little more. It offers a little of most things: a gym, pool, sauna etc but the setting and atmosphere of the place is one of relaxation.
The rooms are basic but clean and as a family of four we got an adequatly sized family/double room (despite a cramped bath/wc) with a TV in both rooms.
The quality of the food is good, and for the greedy a big bonus as it is a self service buffet.
Ramps for whellchairs/prams are easily accessible but the gradients are still very tough to ascend and descend.
The local village is very famous for its produce, particularly cold meats, jams/sweets in syrup and toiletry products made from roses (Venus Rose).
Altogether a great weekend break and would gladly visit again.
